For sound, the 787B you mentioned is so good there is no point making a list.

That’s too bad, you should embrace all the ugly we get to look at these days!

Well, not the BMW nor Lexus grills... those designers belong in a hole. A deep hole.

It’s definitely not worth $10k, even in this market, but $3,500 is low. $3,500 is basically “ran when parked” at this point. $5k to $6k is likely right in today’s market. Your point is well taken however.

Having wireless Android Auto in my car now and using it all the time, it may not be a “deal breaker”, but it’s dang close. If it had true competitors, this alone would eliminate it from my short list.

You are complaining about the front end of 2022 Acuras? Look, if you don’t like them, that’s cool... you do you. But compared to the older “beak”... and much more compared to BMW and Lexus, or the giant grills of Genesis and Audi and you complain about these? What happens when you see a Tundra... or a Silverado... do

Was at an auto show when the new Infiniti Q45 came out, 2002 I believe. The “gatling gun” headlights really stood out and it was an impressive looking flagship. The guy from a local dealer was hovering over it and was eager to tell my friends and I all the specs for the car. For some reason were were a touch skeptical

I think you make a great point about Toyota not playing this right, but I’m not sure I agree on the pricing yet. $45k base isn’t fair to compare against average of all cars, and the average price is also greatly inflated right now. (Yes, inflation impacts EVs as well, but so much of the increase of average transaction

You could be right on the “wrong” car. I have a TLX myself, and I think these do look great. (I really like the colors and copper wheels here). But the Type S is already expensive and and I know I wouldn’t pay even more for these... but there must be someone doing so.

I feel like it is done mostly to keep the PMC plant operating. As long as they can sell enough (and at a high enough margin) to keep that plant going, then it likely makes sense. I also would assume Acura’s next plans for the plant overall will dictate how many of these, or how much they continue, these special

I’m not disagreeing with you, because the system does seem dumb today. However, when it was put in place, to the best of my recollection it was done to encourage automakers to get into the EV game. The thought was that once they’ve sold 200,000 plus vehicles, they wouldn’t need to subsidy anymore to be competitive.

That makes sense. My thought is no matter what automakers plan today, at some point the lure of sales will be too strong to resist. Eventually volumes will be chased again.

All auto makers will say today that they won’t go to pre-pandemic inventory levels, and they likely mean that (for now). However, at some point they’ll say, “if I can sell 100 of these for that much profit, what if I sell 110?”... and so on. No way these companies will be able to resist more volume in the long term

I mean sure, the Element has “better” interior materials, but as you mentioned, that isn’t saying much. Aztek was fine ergonomically as I recall, and it could actually tow (3500 lbs vs 1500 lbs). My point with the Aztek is it was very functional, just ugly and deservedly was a flop. My argument is the Element deserved

My first thought was Cadillac couldn’t sell what were competitive sedans (CTS, ATS, then their replacements) at the same price as BMW, MB, Lexus, so why can they do this? But at 500 units a year, this is looks just to be a halo vehicle that won’t need to make money. If that’s the case, they can give this all the

I feel what you are getting at (at least I think). Part of me agrees with your first sentence, then another part of me thinks remaking these somehow lessons the original. I feel like if Bentley was doing full top down restorations of old chassis it would be awesome, but creating new serial numbers is just not cool.

I’m

Yup... see Lexus and BMW grills.

Oh, the Aztek is still hideous.

I’m not sure which bag is being sucked, but the Element is one of the ugliest cars I’ve ever seen. I think it is uglier than the Aztek.

If you like it though, drive the crap out of it and love it! I mean, preferably not around me, but you do you.

“.. it may be ugly... there you go. My point was a complete flop (Aztek) is literally an automotive joke, yet it was also extremely functional. I think the Element is uglier. Easy to disagree with me though, as that’s just my opinion. I also knew there are some huge Element fans, and more power to them, I just hope I

It is fair that the Element was built better... but the Aztek is certainly not one of GMs worst cars (as far as reliability). I still have trouble keeping the vomit down when I see an Element though (I didn’t even post a photo of one I dislike seeing it so much), and sure that’s personal preference... but to me it’s
