There are no 10 year residencies of which I am aware. 3-5 years is the norm, plus 1-2 for fellowship. Mine was 1 year internship, 4 years residency, then 1 year fellowship. That’s on the long end of the spectrum for reference. General surgery is 5 years. Just wondering where you got your info from.
