State’s rights was the phrase used to whitewash (ahem) slavery, secession and the Civil War. No, it’s never been on the right side of history. It was something the Framers of the constitution devoutly believed in, but it hasn’t worked out in practice.

Yes, it’s bizarre, and this in itself disqualifies Biden IMO. Never mind all his serious baggage.  The Dems need someone who is going to bring the fight to the Republicans, who is going to scorch their earth as they have scorched ours all these years. Biden is not it.

I agree completely. Not Buttigieg’s wacky scheme, but a few more liberal justices? It is required for our democracy to function. Republicans are never going to play nice on these issues. Time to play hardball. PAST TIME.
