I really liked his writing when it used to be back on this site, and I think he has useful things to say, but I CANNOT stand watching or listening to him for more than 30 seconds.

I wasn’t super into DDM at any point, but I kind of checked out in a review where he was going on about how weird and quirky (I know, it’s his thing) a floor-mounted high beam switch was, as if that wasn’t an incredibly common thing for years.
Supercar Blondie - she appeals to the lowest common denominator of “car guys,” in that she’s simply an attractive woman fawning over a cool car. We get almost zero information about the car she’s showcasing, which is all the more frustrating considering the types of vehicles she films with. She gets open access to the…
My first exposure to him was from a video before he became huge and he was just like, awkwardly destroying a PT Cruiser convertible for some reason? Like he was just pouring paint or something on the seats and looking around awkwardly. It was the worst thing I’ve ever seen.
This x 1000. He’s built a successful career out of it and pivoted that popularity towards other businesses, but I CANNOT stand listening to him for more than a minute. Something about his excitement just seems artificial and forced, almost cringeworthy.
Yea, it’s Doug and it’s not even close. How that man has 4.7 million subscribers with insightful comments like, “the theme of this car... is circles. The wheels? Circles. The steering wheel? A circle! And if you look at the gas cap, you will see... yet another circle. Truly the designers had circles on the brain”, is…
Thank you.
From personal experience, the savings is pretty decent. in Powerful cars and V8s, it can be the difference of a quarter tank, especially in city settings.
What does stop/ start do for engine longevity though? I’ve always heard that 90% of engine wear happens when cold starting, but in a stop / start car, even if the engine is warm, oil drains to the oil pane during prolonged stops.
Supremely annoying function though.
This is not a story about a pan. It’s a love story about friends and memories.
I’d rather eat “...regularly...” at a fancy restaurant than eat daily from mediocre chain restaurants. It is amazing how much better the quality of your dining out experience can be when you dial it back to special occasions and drop serious coin when you do. I only eat out once (sometimes twice) a week now (no…
Do you want to argue with cooks who may be on trial for violent crimes?
Maybe!
My thoughts too.
Feels like we need more context about the conversation and how the word was used.
As idiotic as this kia owner sounds, I doubt he could figure out how to do something as simple as pulling a fuse...
Yeah, didn’t you see what happened to Drew Barrymore when she crashed her Thing? Lost her memory, and had to go on a bunch of first dates with Adam Sandler. That poor soul.
I’m always tempted to invest in a pair of Type 181s, have them both painted red with turquoise ragtops, and call them “Thing 1” and “Thing 2”!
