My guess is that they don’t want to force non-prime members or Prime members who aren’t shopping at Whole Foods to update their app on the same schedule as the Whole Foods app. There could be some other barriers, like difficulty integrating what is probably a different backend for the existing Whole Foods UPC data…

Pharmacists can refuse a doctor's prescriptions because physicians don't typically have a good understanding of the mechanism behind a drugs actions and whether it will interact with other medications the person is taking. This moral objection thing is for the birds, though. 

There would have to be some strange science behind cooking ground beef to “well done” without drying it out.  It would have to be an exceptionally thin patty to boil off enough of the water to get the remaining solids to turn brown before it’s nearly completely dry.  If it’s “done” in the middle it’s going to be well…
