The photo feels like an attack to me because it’s so aggressively white.

This post has been up 2 hours, and there are already “My Diggah,” “Diggah what?”, and “hard R” jokes in the comments. But you’re right, there’s no pleasing some people. Something out of nothing.

Ok, I felt compelled to explain myself a bit:

That’s good to know. In my opinion this behaviour doesn’t reflect on the show at all, but that would depend on the specific wording of the contract.

“Repeated violations” is purposefully vague, though. It could be anything from “conversations that would be fine if he wasn’t your boss” to being a handsy, abusive creep. It’s hard to lean too hard on that.

Game shows are highly regulated; I’d be shocked if you could strip him of his win after the fact without evidence of fraud. What they can do is disappear him from the Top Chef ecosystem going forward, which is valuable since it’s a very effective platform for former contestants.

“Why doesn’t Hollywood make movies like it did for the previous 40 years? They were more original! They starred handsome men who were emotionally closed off, until a quirky woman showed him how to love. And sometimes the woman was exotic, not quirky. Those were the days!”

(and I don’t see anyone here arguing that Spears’s actions make her, like, a good mother or anything)

That wasn’t my argument at all. My argument was that the people sympathizing with Britney for locking herself in a room with her child wouldn’t sympathize with a father who did the same thing.

...Okay? Most people don’t end up in a conservatorship, that’s not an argument for or against them. The ones who do tend to have been child stars with stage parents, like Amanda Bynes and Britney. So pointing out that erratic behaviour doesn’t end up with everyone in a conservatorship doesn’t mean anything.

Came here to post exactly this. There’s been no shortage of “If a MAN...” in these comments, so let’s keep it going. If a man locked himself in a room with his child and refused to let the child leave at the end of visitation, what would we say about that man? “Just a good father who wants to be with his child”

I’m still working out my thoughts on Olivia Munn and John Mulaney’s burgeoning romance,

So, why don’t you like him anymore?

I guess there’s a kind of logic behind the Catholic School Board not telling you about how they tried to commit genocide for a century or two.

I’m from Winnipeg. It was definitely something my teacher chose to emphasize (shout out to Mr. George!), not every class covered it.

This is so strange to experience as a Canadian who was aware of our history. It cannot be said plainly enough, none of this is a surprise. It is all well documented. I was taught about it in high school in 1990. There are books and movies and so many articles. We had a Truth and Reconciliation Commission a few years

Not to be a pedant, but this was also the Catholic church (primarily).

But qualifying his support with a drive-by mention of “Regardless of our past, good and bad, and no matter how long ago it was” cheapens the sentiment and unnecessarily centers him in Spears’s ongoing and devastating ordeal.

I should also mention that there are several retired NFL players who have come out.

A 14-year-old Billie Eilish mouthing racist lyrics is a... I mean, what is even the response to this problem? Have we even decided who gets to sing along to “Jesus Walks” yet?
