I’m not really talking about kids who can’t succeed in their school’s grading via GPA. I’m talking about kids who are literally bumped down to a 4.0 because that’s the max gpa allowed and about kids who don’t have the opportunity to score the weighted points awarded for AP classes because AP classes are not available.

Never said that most people applying to UT are from out of state. My comment had nothing to do with Texas specifically.

There are certain strategies for taking those tests that can be learned. Some people come by them naturally, it’s just the way they think through things, but other people must be taught to think the way the test wants. It’s pretty much the entire premise behind the test prep industry. It is my personal opinion that

My reply is being dismissed, so I’ll place it here. Thanks for your help.

I was in the top 10% of my class, but it wouldn’t have mattered to UT since I’m not from Texas. Most people aren’t from Texas.

Not everyone is from Texas. The 10% (which is apparently now 7%) doesn’t apply to most people applying for university.

Those things can’t be measured as objectively as you believe. My high school didn’t offer a single AP class and the district had a policy that prevented anyone from having over a 4.0. There would be no way for any of us to compete with the people doing extra AP classes during the summer to get those 4.9 gpas. The test

It gets better. There’s a quote of hers in a HuffPo piece about how she could have gotten a better job if she had gone to UT instead of LSU. Doesn’t even acknowledge that she clearly did that one to herself.

There’s a troll in all these posts that keeps going on and on about innocent lives. Like women can’t be innocent as well?

I don’t think she has a shot at the all around position. Both Laurie and Aly are doing so much better than Gabbie this year.

I’ve been feeling it for the last ten years. It doesn’t go away, you just accept that it’s part of your life now.

The now principal (former teacher) at my high school did just that. He lived with his parents so long, they said fuck it and moved out.

Mortons is a big chain, like Ruth’s Chris.

You made it 50 years? God you are such an optimist.

My former boss has that Lexus suv and I still have a visceral reaction whenever I see one. Thank god they finally updated the body style a little.

Guess most of her pregnancy weight is in her ass.

There is something really off about that photo. A quick google search reveals that her ass isn’t as large as it looks in that gold dress.

True enough. My boats are very small whitewater play boats, but I’ve had to dump water while treading and re-enter mid river. It can be done, if you’re strong enough and have the balance necessary. I was of course wearing a life jacket and the water temp was much higher.

Yes, I would. You go paddling in 40 something degree water without any protective gear, hypothermia is your own damn fault. From what I can gather, he wasn’t wearing a life jacket, a spray skirt, a dry suit, or even a wet suit. If you are so stupid you don’t notice your boat is filling up with water before it swamps,
