Ahh yes. Let’s spend half an hour walking in circles trying to find one Pokemon that will have de spawned by the time I get anywhere close to it. But the game won’t tell me it de spawned. Maybe if I’m lucky I’ll find a pidgey during that half hour. Oh gee willikers that sounds like boatloads of fun.

Heaven forbid that some people actually don’t want to grind through a thousand random Pokémon and actually go for a team they’re interested in because they don’t live in a big city spammed with lures and Pokéstops.

Except the “randomness” was not by design. The “randomness” is the result of a glitch that Niantic doesn’t seem keen on acknowledging or resolving.

In all of the games your describing sites like serebii.net which still work as well as guides would say these SPECIFIC pokemon can be found in these areas or in cases of rares they were only available in one specific pixel point location that everyone went to the same spot and you seem to like that but when a

Except that in a standard Pokemon game, you have a rough idea of what is available in each area, and can attempt to obtain a specific Pokemon from that area. Hell if you buy a strategy guide it will tell you exactly what is where so that I can go hunt for that one ‘mon you missed. Currently Pokemon Go is unable to let

I think you are comparing apples to oranges, or at the very least, navel oranges to mandarin ones. Yes the Game Boy and DS titles did not show you where Pokemon are, but they were different games. Besides the fact that Pokemon spawned so often that there were items to keep them AWAY from you, the key focus was

You sure as hell *did* have a way of figuring out where Pokémon would spawn through the Pokédex’s Area menu. It’s been in the franchise since it started.

But why should you have to go into a city to play? Why shouldn’t you be able to play near your house? It’s hard enough for grown-ups to find a whole day to drive out to another city, let alone kids, who should be able to play too.

Omg dude get off your dumb high horse. I have a full time job a family I don't have time to go walk my neighbor hood every single day. Not to mention I live in a country area. When we go to the park it was nice for me to finally have a direction to go instead of just looking for random things to do. It wasn't cheating

Randomness factor? Cheat? Uh ok, first, that is not cheating, regardless of what “Jank” says. The game is not very well designed and since launch has regressed quite a bit. Using a service that actually provides functionality that is pretty key to the base experience is great, and if anything should be a wake up call

But in the Nintendo games, you’d get into Pokemon battles every few dozen steps or so. I’ve been out for an hour without seeing any Pokemon. Oh sure, there are Pokemon on the “Nearby” tab, but they never actually appear, and their position in the tab changes at random. That’s not very fun. You just come home tired

I don’t understand this at all. The beauty of the game is that it gets people up and out, mostly kids. If you live in a high density urban area, then maybe wandering around aimlessly looking for Pokemon is enticing, but if you live in a suburban area (or rural), it is not.

If it was truly random I’d be ok with it...or if Pokemon showed up where they were supposed to. I have 2 large lakes and a river in my town. No water Pokemon have ever shown up at any place near water after spending hours walking around on the beach. If I could rely on Pokemon being where they are ‘supposed’ to be

Except, Niantic’s very clearly had the same intent as Pokevision, when they created the game. They had a marking system, to show you how close you were getting to specific Pokemon. Pokevision wasn’t cheating, it was helping compensate for crucial gameplay element that Niantic hasn't fixed, and doesn't seem to be able

I don’t even bother playing Pokémon Go at home or work because of that. I find maybe a Pokémon an hour at home. I mostly play when I drive to shopping plazas or downtown areas.

Defending the removal of third party trackers is one thing, but you’re actually going to tell me that the removal of a feature that was initially supposed to be in the game was “just as planned”?

Do you actually read these articles and know why this is an issue, or do you just have two settings, but can only “Sit on Fabricated Moral High Ground” because “Fuck Off and Mind My Own Business” is broken?

The game’s not supposed to be 100% random, that’s why it started with the tracker and why the three step glitch was such a pain in the arse

Except that the in-game tracker was NOT cheating and was a big and important part of the game. With that disabled, you need SOMETHING to track nearby Pokémon.

Niantic is full of shit. Their “game” is barely playable and they have the guts to whine about players trying to find a way to make the game more tolerable?
