In the eyes of scumbag cops like him, black people have to show overtly submissive/happy/harmless expressions in order to not be considered a threat.

I have not been following this case, but regardless of tape evidence, I am really struggling with “blank expression”. Is that something they teach at police academy? How does that element justify anything, much less be brought up in defense of yourself? Did he think the kid was a zombie?

There are at least 3 other cops charged with crimes related to covering up this murder. Trials to start soon I heard. 

Yeah, that’s just sad - they systematically tried to cover up a murder, and will likely face zero consequences for it. Again, another thing that probably happens way more than we even know about. 

It refuted the blatant lies on a lot of police reports. There should be about a dozen other cops heading to prison over that.

She has a point. The Civil Rights Movement did lay the framework for the legal protections that have been extended to the LGTBQ community, women and immigrants. That is why black voters have been so receptive to LGBT rights, even highly Christian ones.
