Oddly enough, my brother in law has been saying the opposite - that Obama’s election proves that racism is over.

I find myself saying that at least once a week. She was a hell of a lady.

I keep telling myself that we survived eight years of Shrub, we can survive four years of von Clownstick. Especially since dems are probably gonna pick up a lot of Congressional seats and probably a few governors in the midterms. We can get through this...

Here’s Joan Baez singing this with her sister Mimi:

My father always told me that there were two things he did not expect to see in his lifetime: the Berlin Wall come down and a black president. His face when each event happened was... indescribable. He was starting to get sick around the election, and we lost him to lung cancer the next year. But he saw two damn

If I had the money, I’d be drinking a lovely looking honeycrisp cyser (mead with apple juice) I saw. Since I don’t, it’ll be triple sec and squirt. And not much, we have to go grocery shopping after this garbage nightmare of an election is called.

My brother in law actually said that to me. Right before he viciously denied white privilege because he’s had a hard life.

May I ask if you’re in Muskegon? Your description fits...

My local store got this early, and the mix *looks* pretty good. I haven’t been able to get in and try to find my 22/24 though.

I think she was a nuclear policy analyst?

It’s not like the poll results even really mean anything - a one point difference is well within the margin of error. Plus we have no idea what questions were asked or the diversity of the sample. At least link to the info!

The consequences of touching a stripper are immediate and obvious: burly dudes will escort you out, and not gently. I suspect that if the consequences of creeping on women in public were such, the problem would vanish.

Obama’s unbridled joy at meeting kids makes me happy.

They’re talking about Mercy Health Partners in Muskegon, and you have to go 30-45 minutes each way to use a non Mercy hospital. From Muskegon, longer from cities north of here. That can be insurmountable if you don’t have a car or a ride, because public transport is shit here.

Mercy is literally the only game in town here in Muskegon - I think I’d have to go to Grand Haven to get out of the system. While I’ve never had problems, I’ve also never been pregnant.

It looks just like a thingy...

I had a da Vinci assisted hysterectomy, and I love the results. Four tiny scars, one night in the hospital, and almost pain free within a few days. Plus my robot loving nephew thinks I’m the coolest. I heartily recommend it.

I was actually thinking redcap (the hat would look black at night) because of the teeth.

Okay, so this isn’t a ghost story or anything like that, but it still scares me. My parents lived in the Colorado high country for many years before I was born. When mom was pregnant with me, they were living in kinda rural Garfield County. During that summer, Ted Bundy escaped custody and was on the run in that
