Dust for Vomit

Hmm, season 1 is probably considered the most realistic, starting with season 2 the show goes completely bananaballs insane but in a fun way. I’d recommend at least giving it a shot. If you have a passing interest in political history they cram everything into the Underwood’s saga, half the fun is figuring out which

This show is too cynical & dark for my taste. I understand it’s an adaptation of a British show, but I would hate the idea for someone who doesn’t know anything about American politics to come out of it thinking this is exactly how Washington works (the Republicans yes but not the Dems).

Robin Wright is awesome. I love how her character has slowly been taking over the show. I though the first season was good, but not great....not as good as the British original (Mostly because I thought the actress who played Zoe Barnes was miscast and couldn’t hold her own against Kevin Spacey. That casting

I have tried to like this show without success what am I missing?

It gets better with age because not only do I care less the older I get but also I just can’t even remember half the embarrassing shit anymore.

It is a reference from “This is Spinal Tap”.

I’ll answer for him: it’s a Spinal Tap reference. When speaking of a drummer who died from inhaling vomit - someone else’s vomit - they mentioned that you can’t dust for vomit. Much funnier in the actual movie than the way I’ve explained it here.

As another over-50, I can explain it using a new-found paste-link skill:

Kind of sad about only one hoeing up, though.

Have found it gets better with age for sure.

In other news, 10 waitlisted teens suddenly have their prayers answered.

I think part of the issue is that, in order to be in a position to get into a school like Harvard (GPA, test scores, extracurriculars, etc.), it helps to come from a privileged background.

You do realize that’s not how Harvard works right? A quick google search will show you that Harvard is one of the greatest providers of non student loan financial aid. Basically, if you can get in to Harvard, you will not be refused for lack of funds.

Agreed, there are probably at least as many reactions to meditation as there are types of meditation.

It was a joke, hence the smiley :) Sorry that wasn’t clear. I use my kettle, for fear the ghost of my stern English grandmother would come rap my knuckles and take away my shortbread biscuits.

In the south, we are seeing bermudagrass, centipede, and other similar grasses come into vogue. The town I live in was actually paying people to reseed/sod their lawns with bermuda. Once my lawn was established 10 years ago, I really haven’t watered it since. I mow it every 2 weeks (not every 4-7 days like I was

Well put.

My only major problem with vaping is the secondhand bit of it. Most cigarette smokers are fairly considerate about where they’re blowing their smoke after inhale. But because vaping is considered “safer” vapists care less about that. The clouds end up much larger and tend to have incredibly obnoxious scents attached
