My parents’ house is a beautiful, compact brick ranch--perfect rectangular box with a nice hipped roof (in SC, a very good idea, indeed.) 1500 square feet. Easy to clean. Cheap to heat and cool (since the new windows and retrofitted insulation)

Lordy--check out the reader submissions a couple of weeks back. There are some frightening “designs” that I am not sure are traceable to any of these styles! I think a lot of McMansions (at least in middle SC) are versions of Italianate, French Provincial, Queen Anne---nobody wants something symmetrical here.

The Ambient powders are the bomb, and well worth the price. I use the bronzer in the palette as a nice, natural shadow that never creased, too.
