I’ve heard that the show plans to address it, which I think is pretty fantastic, supportive, and could lead to some bold, progressive storylines that I certainly hope includes a great Umbrella Academy dance sequence.

“Spoiler etiquette took an unbelievable dive during WandaVision.”
I can hear this sentence in my head, and you get three guesses as to what your voice sounds like.
Looking at the slide 6 picture, I’m happy to see Darth Maul crossover into the MCU.
I’m guessing he’ll play someone who is disgraced law enforcement investigating unexplained grizzly murders where no one but him can see the pattern. He’ll chase the main characters all around the country where all locations look suspiciously like British Columbia.
I think it resonated with a lot of people (like me) because it’s not so much about it being a vampire story but about the relationship between two very lonely children and loneliness in general. I think the problem with trying to revamp it (hey, it’s a pun!) is that a lot of that was conveyed by mood and I’m guessing…
I think it substantially added to the modern vampire mythos. In particular the relationship between the vampire and the vampire’s ghoul or minion. And through that depiction said a lot about childhood as well.
I liked the Swedish film, but don’t understand the weird fascination with this one particular property. In addition to the limp American retread, its been adapted to the stage, turned into a comic book, and this will be the 3rd attempt to make it a tv series (A&E took a stab at it before TNTs failed effort).
I’m waiting for the inevitable “THIS ISN’T THE REAL SNYDER CUT!” after this movie disappoints.
I wonder how soon a #RealSnyderCut campaign will start.
Oh, it won’t go away for a while. There’ll be followup articles about Snyder stans throwing hissy fits about the negative critical reaction; articles about how many people ostensibly watched the Snyder Cut on HBO MAX; articles dissecting weird moments and easter eggs; at least one For Your Consideration article…
My one hope for all of this: I never have to hear about the fucking Snyder Cut again. I generally try not to yuck other people’s yum. I get that Snyder’s style is not appealing to me and that’s fine. Enjoy what you enjoy.
But damnit I am tired of hearing about this fucking thing.
Well three random people on twitter said it was actually really good so clearly you’re being paid by Marvel for some reason
That Charlotte Shane essay linked is absolutely one of the best bits of writing about violence against women I’ve ever read and I’d encourage everyone to read it.
This “tactic” of surrounding or cornering groups of peaceful protestors seems to be one of the main ways police escalate situations. We saw it all through the BLM protests, the same has been going on in Myanmar with the protests against the coup there and now yet another example.
Thank you! There has literally never been any confusion about how not to be a flaming asshole during a pandemic. Stay home, keep 6 ft apart, wear your mask, wash your hands. Takes like these are all from people who want to glamorize how much they “suffered” the past year, when in reality the only things they…
I don’t understand this or any of the many other opinion pieces published all over the internet that want me to believe that I shouldn’t be even a little upset that people have ignored the advice of medical experts because “being lectured about whether or not it’s safe to do anything is pointless, so why bother?”
The 2022 midterms are going to be very interesting because I forsee a lot of Republican primaries basically being a fight between “Traditional” Republicans and Q Crazy Trump worshippers. I don’t think the traditionalist are gonna win. Congress in a few years isn’t going to have a handful of Q nuts, it may end up…
I lost my cousin to Q in early 2020 (and it does feel exactly like that - like once I had a fairly normal cousin who now is enveloped in a cult). From my sample size of 1, here’s what I think led her down the rabbit hole:
I don’t think I needed her to behave in the perfect moral or legal way — obviously it’s a work of fiction. They probably didn’t even need to get into specific acts of making amends.
