Motorcyclist here. Box trailer is the way to go. Keeps your stuff secure and away from prying eyes and is generally way easier to load, especially with today’s mile high truck beds.

We learned in our 335i that if you have 2 gallons of water in a leaky container, it will fry the expensive Harmon Kardon sound system, which lives in the well where they used to put a spare tire.
It makes me want to install a cistern, that’s for sure, so I can water my garden this summer.
I’m getting Rosie Ruiz Boston Marathon flashbacks.
It would be kinder than the 6" sharpened steel spike I’d put in the center of every steering wheel.
Call it “Failed to use safety equipment” and apply it to idiots that don’t wear helmets on motorcycles and die as a result.
My dad bought a brand new Mustang II in 1974 (don’t judge, please) and the first thing he had me, his mechanically inclined son, do was to disconnect the interlock.
Nice piece. Your enthusiasm is what keeps me coming back to read your posts. Please. Keep them coming.
A buddy had one, back in the mid 80s, and the pumps weren’t readily available and they cost a small fortune. You could get them rebuilt, but even that was a $600 proposition.
They’re 35 years old and many states will allow antique plates at 25, so yeah.
It’s a car, but it’s also a rolling lesson in mechanical fuel injection. Make sure you keep some cash around for the inevitable and recurring fuel injection pump rebuild.
People get away with bullshit only when other people don’t call them on it. Being the person that does so is a legitimate role in a group. I’m generally regarded as “polite and reasonable”, but that doesn’t mean I have to be a pushover.
It took me a bit to realize that we have a surprising number of devices attached to our home network, which prompted me to rearrange things a little.
I’ve worked for great CEOs and shitty CEOs. Trust me, when you’re working under a shitty one, you’d pay pretty much anything to get a good one.
I live not far from wine country here in NorCal, so I see tons of rental cars. Most of them are cruising up 101 after dark with their lights off. I think the drivers don’t realize they don’t have lights on because the instrument cluster is lit up and they seem some feeble glow out of the front of the car.
Excellent article. Thank you! Minor nitpick on the headline: What velocity stacks are and why you want them on your car might work better. The “What are Velocity stacks” part of your current headline sounds like a question.
Sorry to inconvenience you while you’re busy wasting time on Deadspin.
And if you fly regularly, the $70 or whatever it is to get TSA Pre-Check on every flight is well worth it. Shoes on, laptop stays in the bag, no liquids removed, usually just a metal detector. If you fly more than a couple times a year, just do it and skip all the bullshit in this entire article every time you fly.
Except that some of us are forced to fly for work. And with Southwest flights starting at $50, you don’t exactly have to be rich to fly anywhere - provided one can plan ahead a couple months. Super budget airlines like Frontier are even cheaper.
Yeah. I spotted a 72K 911 with full service history and a replaced IMS for like $22K. Because of the headlights and internet hysteria around the IMS. People are silly.
