Hat tip to a fellow trombonist! The t-bone snake is awesome!

Yep. It's mainly a safeguard for me to know I have a full backup somewhere in case I goof and nuke something. The long term benefit is if they end up nuking something, I have a copy of it safe. I'd rather pay a buck or two to pull it back than trying to recover it from the drive.

I can see this being useful for freezing client backups when I'm working on their computers. Get their signature, image their drive, encrypt it, upload it here for safekeeping for a few months (to get around the 90 window). Collect mad money when their system eats it and I can get them their files back.

My 2.5 yr old has one of our old smartphones (Android 2.2) - no service on it, but the wifi still works so we can still add some of her educational games and stuff on it without a problem. It's in an OtterBox so is a little more toddler proof. This way she has her own to play with and leaves our phones alone. The

I'll mirror Max. I've been using it on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS on my laptop at work and I notice no difference between it and the version I have on my Win7 desktop at home. Very solid for a preview release.

Annoying.

At work, we still use Superbase 3.01 - November 1995 - it's probably starting to be older than some of our employees...

I agree with Markavell. If I'm driving distance at night, I prefer to turn my dash lights all the way off so my eyes are more sensitive to the road in front of me. Bright white in the corner of my vision is massively annoying to me.

I'm a toss up between those 3M command strips and zip ties. Between the two, I can hang/attach/bundle just about anything.

Yuck. We're just a single screen thankfully. However we did have one movie puke it's guts all over the floor. Elf I think. It had a bad splice somewhere and ate it big time. Took several of us about 45 minutes and a few extra spices to fix it. However it was spooled all over the place so we had about 7 people

I had a love/hate relationship with film. I don't know if our projector was just finicky or if they all are a pain. Only burned a hole in the film once while previewing it. I miss the chatter of the film projector but a LOOOVE digital. I'll be home at 5:30 to load a movie for a 7 pm showing and have about 45

I'll second the 2nd run theaters. I'm the head projectionist of one (300 seats in a town of 4,000). We're also non-profit so our prices are cheap. Our theater is part of our community pride and since we're so well supported by the community, we've been able to renovate almost the entire theater and upgrade to

A side question I'd love to see answered is an all-in-one that's decently capable for going paperless. I'm slowly going paperless with my Canon MP160, but it's a flatbed so I'm manually scanning each page. On-going this isn't an issue, but I have a decent backlog of stuff I'm trying to scan in. I have a hard time

I've heard it both ways. With my insurance, the card is unique to the vehicle so I just leave it in there. No point in carrying it with me.

It's a toss up for me. I enjoy being home in my environment (instead of a cube farm) so yes, I agree, I'm much happier at home. However, as stated, I'm not as productive, which does get a little stressful and negates some of the happiness factor. So I enjoy working from home from time to time, but I actually prefer

Word of warning to those with active subscriptions. It will pull your paid time back to 1 year out as well...just lost 2 months. Oh well, I'll still pay it when it's up.

I work home informally (like when Kansas is buried under a ton of snow...). It's a mixed bag for me. I can catch up a lot on my work since I don't have client calls to deal with as much. However, it's also a dent in my productivity because I run 3 screens at work (a lot of word/excel/other program juggling) and I

Hiren's has a host of things that have help me save people from themselves for several years now. Ubuntu is nice because I'm used to it and if I need to just access a file when Windows craps out, it's handy. I could probably get away with a smaller *nix of some flavor if I wanted to.
