I don’t even have faith in mihoyo to do justice to the characters even if they did change the skin color. Xinyan is still the only non-white character they’ve added since release and they left her to be one of the worst characters in the game

Good article, I hope that fan pressure from the global player base will push GI to expand their character designs beyond the current disappointing plans.

They’re also not particularly non-white. The closest people today would be Iranians and Iraqis, particularly the latter.

While I was one that figured Sumeru was referring to the Sumer region, and thus expecting more Mesopotamia rather than Egypt... it’s not like the people of Sumer were particularly “white” either.

If not for sensitivity, then for character variation. Why not use all options, including darker skintones when designing characters, when designing a character? It’s right there and available? It’s so weird to opt to have all/most characters have lighter skin colors.

I really like the style and flair of this game, it had a lot of potential. I figured I’d come back to it after a few updates... but those just stopped on day and now it’s shutting down.

Didn’t this and Fall Guys hit around the same time, I feel like that one really ate this games lunch and kinda doomed it.  Its a shame because it was a lot of fun and having cross  play right out the door made it great to play with friends during the dark days

This was inevitable. They haven’t updated the game in almost a year. Last patch was September 2021, for a f2p battle royal, this is a death sentence and the studio had been silent since then.

It was clear that the studio was not doing well on top of the game not doing well right from the start.
