I mean, must be nice to have $1000 to blow on this.

Considering this every expensive game is screwing over a whole lot of Wall Street assholes, I say more power to them.
I would say that the entire system itself is broken if, when working “as intended”, corporations that haven’t turned a profit in ages are still valued in the billions.
The system is inherrently broken, and it is broken in favor of the billionaire class and those who already have the means to enrich themselves further.…
Just because something has been around for a long time doesn’t make it real lol.
This whole story shows that Wall Street is fake, the economy is fake and that economics isn't a real science.
I enjoy The Sims, but I could never fathom spending the asking price for all the DLC. As you say, most of them are either overpriced stuff packs that are totally unnecessary to the base experience or gimmicky expansions whose content is either very specifically-themed or walled off in its own area. To date I don’t…
They complement each other, so why were they released separately?
It is very telling that Sims 4 is now regularly on sale, including all add-ons, for 50-60% off, while Sims3 and its addons is still going for full price on the EA store.
I got a complete pack of Sims2 for free at some point from EA, I do not even know if there’s a complete pack in existance for Sims 3. Probably for…
Paralives is looking like a great indie Sims-like, whenever it comes out.
Im so down for a The Sims 5 with farming expansion and open world.
You’re definitely not wrong as everything stands right now, but The Sims has always existed in this weird space with literally no competition so they’ve been allowed to be as greedy as they want.
I got TS4 on sale for $5 a while ago and have opened it up only a few times. For me personally, the core gameplay hook is a lot weaker than TS3. The removal of little things like the grocery store and the bookstore just really put a damper on the experience, and I hate feeling like I don’t have any incentive to leave…
I completely lost interest in TS4 when I first got the base game in 2016. In fact, it was so buggy, it crashed my fairly new laptop. After that, I just kept buying TS3 packs when they went on sale, and have mostly continued to play that whenever I do play The Sims. I’ve not bought but maybe 3 packs for TS4.
Absolutely this. The biggest problem EA has with The Sims is that they can’t milk everyone more. The ability for fanmade content and mods is a stick in their craw. And what you said is exactly how they’ll “solve” that problem.
I think it’s offensively worse. Sims 4 only runs “well” when compared to past Sims titles. And that was the excuse for having such a poorly made game to begin with.
I still enjoy the Sims 4, but yeah it’s getting by on past glories. Besides the skin tone overhaul & create-a-sim, which are great, it’s got the same feeling as the Sims 3, generally. If someone said Sims 3 was a better game, I probably couldn’t argue against that because Sims 4 arguably is lesser than 3 in scope and…
Be careful what you wish for. I’m certain Sims 5 will be an online only game-as-a-service, full of a microtransactions and season passes and everything else EA thinks they can wring out of a fan base they’ve actively decided to hook up to milking machines and take for granted. It will be like the most depraved mobile…
I’ve spent about $700 on Sims 4 content
These runs should be considered invalid.
