Of the Ellie comparison I strongly prefer the left side one. Her face and hair looks more realistic.

“people who ... are excited to play Diablo Immortal”
there must be dozens of them 😂
I’m only hoping that the upcoming Paralives will jolt EA out of its Sims complacency.
For me the series peaked at Sims 3; I’m not willing to touch another Sims game without open world or free pattern/colour mixing.
In addition to being super tacky conceptually, from an aesthetical viewpoint, pushing such disparate art styles into a single product makes some of the characters (Shaggy and the animals) look really creepy when appearing next to more realistically proportioned human characters 😰
I started only 5 months ago, and having a blast. Sadly MiHoYo only rarely repeats festivals, but they added a few older festival rewards to be buyable from NPCs. But overall it’s not a huge value. My main gripe about missed festivals is that they often had a significant plot element, but whatever, so far it only…
“Reddit was significantly more concerned about how much compensation would result from the delay.”
Idk, looking at the linked thread, all the upvoted comments seem compassionate towards the devs.
MobyGames was useful when I was researching (old) Hungarian developers, but it’s 10+ years out of date.
I started it 3 months ago and it’s a great open world exploration/action/adventure game. The gacha mechanic feels almost tacked on top, it’s not an integral part of the gameplay.
I highly recommend Genshin, but only if you’re not susceptible to addiction, otherwise the FOMO and ubiquitous opportunities for spending…
This is such a bad take... One cannot call themself a socialist while living a rich lifestyle. Where is his integrity...
Afaik Steph used to have a wife that they since divorced from and are still co-parenting their kid, I haven’t heard about them having a husband yet. Congrats Steph!
This is my impression too. I played numerous MMORPGs in the ‘00s and a few in the last decade, and over subsequent new releases there seemed to be a clear shift away from character-based stats and towards gear-based stats. (Though not sure if the same applies to single-player RPGs too.)
here you can see accounts with more than 30k games:
Probably the same reason other leavers mentioned in their goodbye post:
ok, so googling what ‘carbuncle’ means was a bad idea... now I need to rinse my eyes
I never had a console, and I always played on PC with mouse & keyboard, so it’s desktop 100% of the time. It would feel downright weird for me to play in front of a TV.
I love your writing style :D
I always play on easy difficulties (except in Picross lol, give me that 35x35). Gaming is about escapism for me, immersing myself in a story, exploring a world, collecting stuff, completing achievements. Boss fights and challenge modes actively put me off even in games I love.
why is this on Kotaku >_> neither video game-, nor Japanese culture related
I watched a few episodes of Aria 10+ years ago, but I remember it being incredibly boring. Basically nothing happened, even less so than in Haibane Renmei that also starts really slowly.
oh no :( Kotaku is really being driven into the ground. I wish all the previous staff would just continue what they were doing here together under another organisation.
