Soo, the author of my ever-favourite manga series is a bit of a scumbag? Yay...

Didn’t Miyazaki retire and come out of retirement several times by now? Can people still straight-facedly talk about any more “last film”-s he announces?

My favs are Spirited Away and Howl’s Moving Castle (though the latter is *very* different from its original novel). Princess Mononoke is also pretty awesome, but it’s a lot grittier than the other two.

Reminds me of how Johnny Depp’s domestic abuse case retroactively ruined all his movies for me :/ Used to be my favourite actor, but now I just don’t want to see his face ever again. Which is a shame, as I loved Pirates of the Caribbean and Sweeney Todd :(

I love his “serious player with random squad” vids, it makes me laugh so much :D That said, I find that on solo plays his overreaction is a bit too much.

There was one vid where he was playing with his usual squad where I didn’t even recognise his voice, it was so much more subdued than what I’m used to from him.

Imho 3D just doesn’t mesh well with anime style at all.

Kinda unrelated, but this narrator has the singular most sedate voice I’ve ever heard. Couldn’t decide if it was her falling asleep while she was speaking or me.

Also Ingress is a lot more PvP-focused (basically a zero-sum game), while PoGo can be played non-competitively, just wandering around collecting pokes without every interacting with anyone.

Wow, and Elfen Lied didn’t make it to the list? The original manga has an (imho) very amateurish-looking art style. It was an eyesore. The anime is much improved in this regard.

I don't like these "will change your life" article titles - it rarely delivers. I've seen 7 out of these 10 animes and while I liked most of them, I don't think they changed my life in any noticeable way. Probably because anime plots have a tendency to be so WEIRD that they don't really affect my lived experience…
