Except it doesn’t? If she didn’t have a criminal record or any official medical record of mental illness, a background check wouldn’t have prevented this. She also used a handgun, not an assault rifle, so a ban on assault rifles wouldn’t have made any difference either.

That it is a civil right to be a danger to others because treating mental illness is oppression as has been the “left’s” position since the mid 60s.
