They were never allowed in class when I was in school. Been 7 years since I got out of high school but I’d imagine it couldn’t have changed that much. I think it’s less of a “is it allowed?” thing and more of a “the current generation just doesn’t give a shit and will do what they want anyway” thing.

In my experience (wife is a teacher) the kids are allowed to have phones on them, but are not supposed to have them out during class. I’m sure that varies by district. I’d guess kids are trying to hide phones in their laps and such while they play.

I haven’t been in high school for almost 20 years now but... are phones really just allowed in class? That seems anathema to the idea of focused group learning.

Red Faction Guerrilla is getting a remaster due out sometime in the second quarter of 2018 according to THQ Nordic.
