The depth of my non-understanding of what any of this shit means is profound.
I feel like knowing that 1) it’s based on a true story, 2) she lives in real life, and 3) they get married in real life kinda undercut some of the tension and drama during most of the movie. Like, it’s a romcom, you could have guessed that stuff anyway, but still. All in all still pretty enjoyable though.
I’d send you the evidence but the LIBERAL INTERNET has deleted it from existence.
Lol, OK.
“For the record, he was on my show and I didn’t insult him to his face, I did it on Twitter!”
I think one mistake that a lot of parents make is taking their kids a bit too late, probably forgetting how much longer it takes food to arrive after you sit down at a restaurant than after you sit down at home. As such, kids gain a reputation.
My daughter is just a bit over a year old, and we’ve taken her out fairly regularly since only a few weeks after she was born. She’s now at the point where the only remotely disruptive thing she does is occasionally drops a toy or two. Otherwise, she’s pretty quiet and happily (and pretty cleanly) shares our food. In…
Until your kid can use knife and fork and sit quietly through a meal, they stay at home.
Also, some shows I only ever actually watched an episode of for the first time (and fell in love with) when it had already been cancelled:
Honestly I wasn’t going to watch Angel at all because he was a massive irritant to me in early BtVS seasons, a show I started to prefer once he left (I know I’m supposed to feel the opposite way according to consensus but oops). But then I found out it’s where Cordelia went and that Spike would be there eventually so…
Love them all, but I want to give a special shout out to E•MO•TION. Guys, its a really good album.
Crazy Ex-Girlfriend - I only discovered it when it was more than halfway-through the second season - thanks to AV Clubbers who just would. not. shut-up about how great it is (Thanks guys!). I was initially put-off by the horrible show title - which does the show a disservice in my opinion. Now I’m a die-hard fan!
Veronica Mars is adorable! It wasn’t as addictive (at first) as those others, but quite enjoyable. And then when you’re done, since nobody can let go, there’s still the movie and that “Play It Again, Dick” webseries to keep you going.
Well, I just watched Buffy, Angel, and Veronica Mars all for the very first time last year! I think that counts.
Yep. Except for the white cheddar sandwich on the right.
Since I had to go to the Yelp page after reading this... is this your menu?
Great piece. Reminds me of an coffee roaster/espresso bar/breakfast and lunch place I once worked at. Thanks for the memories.
I don’t think the bathtub scene is what people are referring to when they talk about romanticizing suicide. I think it’s just the whole premise of the 13 episodes leading up to that where some emotionally distraught teenager might see the charismatic girl who killed herself and the reactions of the people the tapes…
You were not in the wrong; that was tacky, to say the least.
