Million dollar cars arent written off, they are sent back to the factory to be rebuilt.

His clone probably wrecked him.

It has more to do with servicing a an exclusive super car at the same dealerships that handle repairs on 03' Focuses. All it takes is one overzealous shop worker with an impact gun or a shop runner getting their hands on the keys for a joyride for Ford to have an expensive and embarrassing lawsuit on their hands.

An oil change at Jiffy Lube would be amazing.

This seems excessive. A bolt is a bolt. It might have some special procedures for certain repairs, but this is more about maintaining exclusivity than about “only this guy is capable of torquing this bolt to 125 ft-lbs.”

When you said embarrassingly loud I assumed an exhuast leak.

Reminds me of the story Jay Leno tells of driving his Morgan 3-wheeler. He rounds a corner at breakneck speeds, and sees a cop. So he pulls over, because obviously the cop will want to ticket him for such reckless driving. But the cop doesn’t budge. So he walks over to him (when you’re a celebrity, you can do that

Yep. If we could actually get states and localities to enforce the passing lane as being a passing lane and not a “but I was doing the speed limit in the far left lane, you should have ticketed the cars speeding to pass me on the right” lane, and ticketing cars for passing on the right, both of those should massively

Anyone with an IQ over 80 can understand that correlation does not equal causation. Unbelievable. Even if this was valid, it’s not the speed that caused the deaths, it’s the shockingly low standards with which people are allowed to drive and the resulting otherwise avoidable “accidents.” Maybe we should lower the

I don’t think speed kills as much as variance of speed. When you have some people going 65 in the number 1 and 2 lanes and the majority of the flow going ~80, problems occur.

Also the rise of the cell phone

I won’t doubt that physics and the less room for error + everyday distractions lead to more deaths than needed, even as cars have become safer. You can’t beat physics.

does this account for the increased traffic on the roads over this period of time (i assume that there are a lot more people driving around today than back in 87)

He deserves some jail-time, or community service at minimum.

I thought it was an updated version of this:

All of which passed crash testing and design conformity certification.

Just stop it. Using death as an excuse to milk the shit out of somebody for money is not acceptable.

Yes, unsafe to drive at illegal speeds on public roads with decade old tires. Damn you Porsche, how could you!

There is one rule on American highways, and that rule is "fuck you, buddy" :-)

It's amazing to me how I find it absolutely unfathomable to have that much trust in the drivers around you, even on the Autobahn; all because I'm from America.
