The point is that you can’t move at a high speed in New York to dodge cars and pedestrians, and you certainly cannot jump curbs and not hit someone.  Even the ambulances, cop cars, and fire trucks cannot get through with their sirens blaring.

It’s really amazing how quickly people went from empathizing with them to just being over it completely (and by “people” I mean me). They simultaneously want to be left alone while also begging for all of the attention.

He is also a massive moron who did not wear a seatbelt despite knowing that the lack of one is what caused his mother’s death. Harry’s trauma is his responsibility and he needs a real therapist not the woo specialist he has been seeing. Everything he has done in the past few years just shows an angry person blaming…

The ‘source’ was the head of their security team who is seriously trying to cover his derrière right now.

They were harassed but ‘near catastrophic’ is really stretching it.

The language was manipulative. If you think Harry and “near catastrophic car chase”, people are automatically think of his mother and how she died. The statement was designed to be emotive. If he’d said they had been harassed for 2 hours while trying to get home and didn’t want to the press to know where they were…

The wording they used in that statement they released did suggest a ‘car chase’.

They never said they are in a high speed chase for two hours. They said they were relentlessly pursued. Still, why released a statement at all? It just seems so high drama and thirsty.

Credulously taking a statement by the Sussex’s team at face value is also irresponsible.

Well, you know, Manhattan is known for its empty streets and lack of police presence, right? Perfect for high speed car chases!

I wish these two would honestly just go away. They’re so shamelessly desperate for attention that I’m sure one year from now we’ll be hearing about how hairy Harry’s red sack is and Meghan’s anal bleaching DIY hacks. It’s crazy how fast they went from being semi-admired to just downright obnoxious. 

Harry should probably stop talking about this. And outlets should probably stop covering it. I’m sorry this - whatever it was - happened to them, but... Any [non-New Yorker] has ever been in a cab in New York has probably experienced some moments of genuine terror in a cab in New York.

They have money and influence, both things lots of organizations would like to tap into, and giving them bullshit awards is a nice way to ingratiate yourself with them.

It’s performative charity. You never see the little people who are working day and night to get things done at local levels getting this kind of award. It always goes to the “big name” who mentions them in a tweet and rolls in for the applause.

Why do these two keep getting awards? What "work" have they actually done to help individuals or causes? They got an award a year or so ago for something to do with sustainability by only having 2 kids. Seriously? There are people who devote their lives to causes, but these 2 keep getting awards thrown at them for…

Yeah it doesn’t make sense that this kept going for 2 hours. Stop at a police precinct and go in and ask the cops to intervene. Or any nice hotel and go inside and wait until they can safely leave again. 

Yeah that was my first thought.  

My main question is where they were going within NYC that they were being chased for TWO hours. Traffic is bad, but it’s not that bad.

Maybe don’t try to outrun them. If their chauffer didn’t try to lose them, there wouldn’t have been a chase.
