Miles, your girlfriend was likely very young when Titanic came out. It’s quite conceivable that she missed it. But her comprehension may be off if she thinks Jack works on the boat since we see him win tickets and it’s mentioned repeatedly

Good for Anne! I’m glad that she mostly gets to keep her life her own

Actors in Hollywood is a terrible place to work out pay equality. Because it’s less about equal work and more about equal worth. It’s a unique algorithm and series of deals (points on the backend, BO draw, studio deals, ect). Payment is based not on how hard you work per say, but on what fruit that work is expected to

Anyone else here think Chris Evans might be a *little* bit of an asshole after reading that blurb?

Can we stop pretending these are good movies?

This article has really brought out the worst of the readership in the comments. Bleh

Hahahaha. I’M the one who acts like my life choices are superior. And not parents who run around demanding that everything be accomated to them no matter what.

That’s the way it should be. Absolutely but those who need help that DON’T have children. Will always, always be holding the door. No matter what. If people where as community focused as they should be, then the “others” we would be helping wouldn’t ONLY be those who choose to have kids. It would be about everyone who

This post is so off base. First off, my responsibilities are law school based. So no, I don’t get time off there do my banking. Lol. And my job is a nanny so, no, shockingly I don’t get to pay my bills at work or leave to get my oil changed. If I need to see a doctor I have to get to an after-hours clinic.

Oh you don’t? When do you go to the doctor (most keep bankers hours), or get your oil changed? Do you ever spend time at work checking your bank account, or paying bills online? If your company gives you any “paid time off”, then yes you are being paid for your responsibilities.

That’s fine. I pay those taxes (although they still make me sad). Adding another cost (taxes to subsidize the cost of their salary and work to fill the gaps in their absence) of parenting to non-parents seem ridiculous. Now, if you just mandated extra paid vacation for all, I would be game, but if it only applies to

Parental leave is an egregious slight against non-breeders. We already subsidize your bastards with school, health care, etc. Now we have to pick up the slack at work while you get paid the same do to something you chose to do? This is an abomination.

Not pictured: the Gap Kids ad from just a few years ago wherein a black model was using a white model as an armrest in almost the exact same pose.

What’s funny is that their stunt doubles fell in love and got married. Talk about opposite situations.

In all fairness to Charlize Theron, Jude Law has made similar comments about his looks, and that he felt limited in the parts he could get while still so young and gorgeous. In an interview a couple of years ago, he actually said,

I heard that she and Tom Hardy clashed hard core on Mad Max.... He has a reputation for being difficult, but had seems okay when you paid him with someone chill. But she must be just as much of a pain in the ass as him.

I don’t agree that beautiful people have it easy. My friend is one of the most naturally-stunning, pleasant people to be around. She’s naturally tall and thin and just hit the genetic jackpot in general. Men have been preying on her since she was a child. On a regular basis, I watch women give her dirty looks and men

To continue a conversation begun, last night (anyone?).

I am an introvert but this idea doesn’t seem that bad.... In fact, it seems like a good idea for the first year in a new city. Or perhaps if you are on a limited contract somewhere for work...

While this isn’t for me, the less-snarky aspect is that it is encouraging community in a society that is ever-more less-communal. As a young adult after college I moved to the other side of the country, lived alone, and had no community. This is one positive side of housing like this.
