Yeah that is the kind of thing that happens. I remember Scorsese saying that Nicholson was doing a confrontation scene in The Departed and he pulled out a gun when it wasn’t in the script and really freaked out the actor he was interrogating (either Matt Damon or Dicaprio)

Yeah, I mean it’s hard to understand the things actors do with each other to really push themselves. But this is flat out wrong. Besides, any pushing and actor stuff is for people who have developed a trust and relationship. These two weren't even getting along.
