oh my god, just this tiny moment made my heart start racing. So good!!!

I am so excited about this. I love salt, and I love coffee. But what kind do you recommend? Regular table salt? Kosher? Sea salt? ALL THE SALT?

I decided I needed to "cleanse" my body this week because after the gluttony and staying-up-late that occurred over Thanksgiving, my body was a WRECK. I was breaking out all over the damn place and I felt all messed up inside and everything was generally just out of whack. My "cleanse" consisted of not eating any

The Savile story is exactly why I'm not shocked by the Cosby tale that's been unfolding. Abuse of power like that is so incredibly rampant. I'm just waiting for the next big scandal to rear its ugly head.

I LOVE this story!! Also the idea of being a Buddhist nun. But seriously, your story. I love it. I'm so happy those cats were there to help you through such a sad time. Really, really amazing love in this story.

I was leaving a late class last Thursday and it was cold and blustery and one of the first truly fall days, and I was thinking to myself "what is this day missing? I used to love Thursdays." And I remembered, oh yeah. That used to be the night of all the best TV shows. I just miss the 2 hours of automatic cuddle and

haha my husband was out of town Tuesday night so I made myself stop reading on Sunday!!

Now playing

Just want to make sure you didn't miss this when it happened a few years back:

Oooh I'm going to check these out!

I forgot about the part where I got to the first stoplight and had to wait for 5 minutes because a fucking funeral procession was going by!!

I commented elsewhere, but she came to my school, too! Along with Vicki Grove and Lois Ruby, and Sharon Creech was in there somewhere. A Time for Andrew was a close second favorite. I wanted so badly to have a ghost friend to take me a back in time.

It was a big deal back in like, 1996. Mary Downing Hahn, Vicki Grove, and Lois Ruby all visited within the same few months and I, being the school bookworm, probably read everything each of them had ever written. Sharon Creech visited, too, and a few years later I got to show Avi (True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle)

Yes!! Thank you, I couldn't think of the title! Which means it's probably been long enough that I could reread the books and not have every line still memorized. I know what I'm doing this weekend!

Did you read The Ghost Belonged To Me? If not, you really need to. Blossom Culp remains my hero to this day.

Mary Downing Hahn visited my elementary school when I was in 5th grade and as far as I was concerned, she was The Celebrity of All Celebrities. I read her books so goddamn many times it's not even funny. She is THE reason I have a second Jezebel tab open and have been reading the scary stories for 4 hours straight

This one is so good and so so scary!! All the suspense!! Aagghhh it's 4:30 on a Monday and I shouldn't be this freaked out, but I totally am.

I was reading at work all morning (still am, it's slow) and it's daylight, obviously, but when I left to go grab a sandwich for lunch I heard a hissing noise in my car and I freaked the fuck out. Turns out it was just my purse sliding on a plastic bag but yeah, reading all these was enough to turn me into a scaredy

Have you read Assassination Vacation by Sarah Vowell? There are tons of freaky coincidences surrounding Ford's Theater I think you would love!

I fell asleep on the couch while I was babysitting one time and had what I guess is sleep paralysis for the first time ever. The kids were napping but they woke up and came downstairs to where I was and I could hear them and see them but I could. not. move. It was terrifying.

That's amazing, and I'm so glad your mom is okay!
