I don’t think regular burgers get a better reputation than turkey because people are judging by the best examples. I think it’s because, as you said, making a decent hamburger doesn’t require that much skill. Making a really good one does, but most people can form ground beef into a circle, put salt and pepper on it,

Were the songs dubbed for non-English versions of the movie? If they were, and if they were dubbed by people who can actually sing (which... presumably you’d do, if you were already bothering to dub the songs) that removes one of the major problems with the movie.

Gotham also already had a nonwhite Ra’s, played by Alexander Siddig. But the quote specifies the “big screen,” so what Gotham (or any other DC television show) has done or will do isn’t relevant. Which hopefully means Lady Shiva isn’t off the table! (Also, someone else should use Siddig as Ra’s again, because Gotham

Do you also avoid all adaptations because they don’t “matter” to the core continuity?

There’s an issue of What-If vol 2 (I have no idea what issue, but it was near the end of the run) where she lives, but she’s not a mutant in that one, so you might be thinking of a different story. It seems like something that might’ve happened more than once.

I assume Klemperer ended up like an arm wrestler with one over-muscled arm, except it was the muscles in one of his orbits.

You can already order a single taco! I do it all the time, because I have a toddler and it’s cheaper than their kid’s menu.

For a second I thought that was Kevin in the video, and I was like, “Holy shit, you don’t look anything like your picture!”

No. That’s how trademarks work. Copyright is not dependent on enforcement. They’re not the same thing.

It’s not about the rights to Don Quixote, a novel in the public domain. It’s about the rights to The Man Who Killed Don Quixote, a derivative work. Who gets to distribute/profit from/etc. a film (the issue in question here) isn’t the same thing as the right to make a film out of a specific property in the first place.

I just assumed he was Speed Director’s long-lost brother?

And yet Gotham isn’t allowed to let anyone be the Joker because...having a Joker on TV would be oversaturation? But all this is fine.

A-1 steak sauce is vegan.

Have a star for that pearl clutch.

My guess is that you just have a higher/healthier standard for what constitutes a “noticeably ill-behaved” child than a lot of people in this comment section.

I feel like this is something that doesn’t get brought up enough in discussions of Menace. I honestly kind of love Qui-Gon, Shady Space Grifter, but holy moly does he not work for what the movie is trying to do with him. Heck, I know the “cool” fan theory right now is that Jar Jar is a secret Sith lord, but Qui-Gon

Pistols at dawn it is, then!

Sith gets the most praise, I think, because it has the most forward momentum. Like, the prequels are nominally about Anakin becoming Vader, right? But like 90% of that happens in Sith, which leaves it feeling more...consequential, I guess? And for some people, that’s enough to overlook all its glaring flaws. I’m still

This sounds so boring that I don’t even blame you for getting 500 words into the review before you mention the movie.

If you do, just skip season 1, which genuinely seems to think it’s a gritty crime drama. Seasons 2+ get progressively more bananas, and are therefore more fun to watch.
