It irritates me that those tires and wheels rolled up that ramp

Oh, they are still learning all kinds of things about you, just by different means.

But then what would they sell to advertisers?

How about Facebook lets me delete all the data they have on me? If I quit they only let me deactivate the account. I come could back years from now, log in, and it’d be like I never left.

Sar. I never joined FB.

But that is not exactly true. If it were, FB wouldn’t make their privacy policy so opaque and make changes to it in the way they do.

What’s “funny” is they are collecting more than what you actively put on their site. A lot of websites are tracking what you are doing on their sites and reporting back to facebook. The facebook app is tracking your location and associating it with the location of people you know. They’re buying data from companies

Already mostly pulled out of Facebook. Some members of my family are using it, and I am still out there, but I deleted as much of my history as I could and reduced my friend list by about 75%. I still need to go back and check again to see if I can remove anything else.

Most developed countries have a national (or international) data privacy law. The US is one of the few that do not.

No, there should be laws that you can’t collect information on people at all.

The surviving kids will ask their parents/remaining elders why the world went to shit then can point to stone murals of a Facebook page and tell them with all earnestly “We did it for the likes.”

There should be laws on the books that dictate that a company that collects and maintains information on individuals is liable to maintain it’s security and proper use. See also, Experian. Otherwise it’s akin to someone collecting volatile chemicals being able to say “oh well!” when they leak. If YOU create the

“I don’t agree with the post today and I didn’t agree with it even when I wrote it.”

Welcome to America. The land of “I feel bad enough to say sorry for it, but not so bad I avoided doing it in the first place”.

Disagree. My kids would tell them they are not allowed to grant such access. I have told them in any situation like that lock your phone or power down to defeat touchid. Without me or my attorney present, the principle, a cop, whoever have no right to access their phone. They know they can come to me in any situation.

I have 2 thoughts.

This is awful and the guy should spend the rest of his life in prison. Also, come on people, quit taking and saving nude photos of yourself/others! Also, come on people, talk to your children about the stupidity and dangers of doing so!

Yep, Torch you got this exactly right. I use Ultrasuede in the manufacture of custom foot orthotics. We used to use Alcantara, but switched to Ultrasuede because it's the same stuff but costs less than half as much.

That's not true, Ultrasuede is very different to that Alcantara garbage. Alcantara, at least what is used commercially is thinner and not as rich feeling as Ultrasuede. My neighbor in the NBA had the headliner of his Escalade redone in Ultrasuede some years back and it was noticeably nicer, thicker and more luxurious
