The fact that Donald Trump isn’t on this list is a yuuuge glaring omission.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m not suggesting that this situation should be escalated to violent action by the police. But to suggest they’re powerless is disingenuous. They’re being uncreative their problem-solving, and demonstrating a lack of willingness to enforce the same laws they use to justify violence against…
OP meant if they were labelled Antifa/BLM, the National Guard would’ve been called out and they’d have been teargassed, shot with rubber bullets, and been otherwise manhandled into submission.
You have fallen into the same trap as many theists do.
This. I don’t know any atheists that try to ‘convert’ people, but many who end up in arguments with Christians when they had no desire to do so... they get ambushed as soon as the knowledge that they don’t believe in God is revealed.
“Atheists are openly hostile towards religion. Agnostics just don’t believe in any god.”
I think you misunderstand what some other people go through. People in deeply religious families, and especially certain religious communities often expect their children will be the same way. It’s not unheard of for some families to disown their children if they tell them they no longer follow that particular belief…
I never proselytize, but in this wacky Christian country I sure do end up having a lot of conversations about religion.
I think most people who become atheists go through an angry period, I myself did many years ago. Some never grow out of it. For many I think it’s because they felt they were lied to their whole lives. I didn’t grow up in a hyper-religious family, so it wasn’t a huge issue for me.
“Are you raising your children to be atheist or agnostic? Atheists are openly hostile towards religion. Agnostics just don’t believe in any god.”
An Atheist myself, I am uncomfortable by how other Atheists try to prosthelytize believers. Just as I have no interest in having anybody try to convince me that their church is the only way, I don’t feel like I have anything to gain in telling others that they should wisen up and not believe like me. I know enough…
It’s also perfect for a lot of adults, too. I use mine every day. I knew what it was when I bought it, and I’ve been completely happy with the purchase. I use it for streaming videos when I work out, for reading on Kindle, and for web browsing. Mine has traveled all over the world and has proven nearly indestructible.…
That’s it. I’m done with Lifehacker. I’ve been reading the site since it started in 2005. It’s one of the RSS feeds I check every day. No more.
And if you already know how to use one system, you might be confused when a different system doesn’t work that way or you might be upset to find that the Android feature you want simply doesn’t exist on the iPad. And “idiot proof” or not, you might have apps that are available on one but not the other.
I’m not arguing that the iPad isn’t great, but if someone got me (who has never owned an Apple product) an iPad rather than a quality Android tablet, I’d be irritated at having to learn an entirely new OS and invest money in new app ecosystem. And I’m pretty tech savvy, I wouldn’t want to have to explain someone…
Agreed with all of this, with one caveat. For me, the main stumbling block for relying on the air fryer for Thanksgiving is capacity. Most air fryers aren’t that big; I think my “medium size” fryer has a capacity of around 4 quarts and it says it makes four servings. That works great for the three people in my…
I logged in just to say this, but here I find that someone else already has! This is just to concur, then -- for baking, just use imitation. One of the many great things to be learned from America’s Test Kitchen.
One big caveat to this. Serious eats (and others) have done taste tests in the past that confirm people cannot tell the difference between vanilla extract (fancy or not) and imitation in most things. Cooked/baked goods pretty much removes any complexity the vanilla might have, so unless you’re using vanilla in…
People go on about touchy-feely liberal clapter, but it’s always the edgy anti-PC crowd who give these tedious, preachy speeches. It’s the same kind of persecution complex that made late-period Lenny Bruce and Bill Hicks so exhausting.
