In the latest episode of Rick & Morty alternative The Simpsons, guest star Alison Bechdel describes her famous…
Nah, I’ll not bother, I already know about the cadre around here for whom every woman who’s done something or supported something shitty, is a blameless babe in arms, who some man convinced to do terrible things.
I’m saying it doesn’t matter, because the same motherfuckers will ALWAYS find an “All Lives Matter”, a “Respect the Flag”, a “What about Chicago” excuse to tell black Americans to shut up.
It says a lot about the people who see and hear what he has to say and yet continue to work for him.
Which says a lot about the people who see him, hear what he has to say, and decide to support him. Hey, I’m all for non-professional politicians helping to break and rebuild a flawed system, but they should at least be able to read something more complex than a coloring book.
Caramelize a ton of onions, make some mashed potatoes. I suppose you could use instant potatoes if you really want a simple hack. Par-cook lasagna noodles, then put multiples layers of the noodles, potatoes, onions, and of course some kind of simple cheese in a casserole dish as you would with lasagna. You could get…
Why is the NFL, and Jerry Jones specifically, keeping this issue alive? I don’t pretend for a second it is even remotely a moral stance. Hell I’d even respect them a little for it if it were. A little.
Fuck the NFL, fuck Jerry Jones, fuck Pence, fuck Trump, and fuck every coward trying to pretend this protest is about anything other than systemic racism.
Oh god I so hope this is the opening volley in the labor battle that destroys the NFL
Why don’t you love yourself? ;)

So interesting personal tidbit. I was diagnosed with cerebral palsy when I was young, and this is exactly how I walked (and still walk). The doctors told my parents that the tendon from my heels to my calves were short and stiff, and I underwent multiple surgeries to “correct” this by having that tendon essentially…
I was a C-section birth after exactly 24h of labor, so yeah... that seems to at least have been the standard 42 years ago when I was born. If you are saying that is still the standard, it seems she was “given a chance” - she was given 10h more than usual, no?
I am also curious to see if her desire to have a vaginal delivery no matter what has anything to do with the current shaming on the internet about C-sections, which is similar to the shaming about bottle feeding babies.
Her whole testimony sounds ridiculous to me as an attorney. She doesn’t remember key parts of her case. Like, she doesn’t remember if they told her the baby was in distress? This is some grade A ambulance chasing right here. If you have a client who can’t affirmatively assert whether important elements of your case…
I’m not sure why chicken in the KFC gravy would be alarming, considering that most gravy is made from the drippings of roasted meat. I would be more concerned if there wasn’t any meat/animal product in it.
As a L&D nurse we use fetal monitoring to determine how a fetus is “coping” with labor. There are three categories of tracing of a baby’s heart rate - Cat I is a sign that a fetus is well oxygenated at that moment, Cat II is indeteminant, the fetus could be fine or it could be compromised, we can’t tell. Cat III…
I’m not a medical expert, but I am currently pretty well informed about the risks of VBACs, since I had one a few months ago (successful, thankfully!). I feel like we don’t have enough details from both sides of this particular story, so I’ll just say some general things based on my experience & my research:
It would be grossly irresponsible to allow a VBAC labor, assuming it was active labor, to continue for 34 hours.
