It's all about technique. Her boyfriend/coach is one of the best at the course so he's taught her all the stuff he knows, I'm sure. Her height works against her there (it IS a 14' wall!) but foot placement and getting the right lift when you push off makes all the difference.

I love how the announcers have undermined this lady because of her height and weight, when it's probably one of the bigger advantages she has. Not to mention being a gymnast, which are one of the most powerful people out there.

Should probably be noted that her boyfriend/coach is Brent Steffensen and is the only other "first American to get furthest" at Mt. Midoriyama. This is a dream team. I really wish ANW was a larger event. Make this an Olympic sport!

Probie training in the FDNY is harder than Army bootcamp. The fact is that few women apply, and even fewer pass the physical test. There are a lot more women in FDNY EMS, though, at least compared to firefighters.

The physical test they have to take to get into the academy is physically demanding (as it should be). An ex of mine took it and was training for it for months.
