I agree the third party application launchers are better; I just found Shell's to be better than Unity's. I use dmenu when I use xmonad and other tiling managers.

Not sure what you're saying, but it should be "Windows 7 -= Crapware" for it to actually change Windows. ;)
As others have said, Microsoft Signature isn't new. I think MS is just reminding people that they have it. I'm sure they make more money off of PCs sold in their stores instead of just from a manufacturer's site.
Adam specifically says that it's a joke under the image. I found it funny.
RDP also allows you to get the audio, etc. from the Windows box. However, you have to pay extra for RDP (Windows 7 Professional Edition or higher) and VNC is free.
Works great with xmonad.
He's got a Thunderbolt. His Thunderbolt is his main phone, so I doubt he wants to mess with it by setting it to stock just to test out a root method.
I think GNOME-Do has more competition from GNOME Shell's applications menu. It's even better than the Dash in terms of launching applications imo.
Bought Jump Desktop and it's pretty good. Glad it's so cheap right now. I needed a VNC client.
I was going to say the N900. It's a similar device. I would love to get one eventually. I was sad that the N9 was the last open device Nokia was making and they killed it before launch.
Approving.
When I build my computer for college when I graduate in the sring, I might try this. My only hindrance with this is price. I want the most power I can get for the cheapest and to do that, it's usually AMD CPUs. If I can sacrifice on the CPU a bit powerwise, I think I'll try this. I won't be getting a Mac any time soon…
I guess the gestures could add a great deal that I'm missing out on. The only multitouch my laptops have are for scrolling. The pinch, etc. could be the things that might make a touchpad more enjoyable.
"I can't get that. I'm creative."
Do you mean word processors? Google Docs or any Office suite is terrible for text editing (coding, etc.).
What Mac are you using that trackpad with? If it's a desktop, how are you liking it? I don't see how it'd be practical on a desktop, but I could be wrong.

You might be paying for an 8 megabit connection (1/8 of 1 megabyte) and are seeing 1 megabytes per second down. How are you calculating your 1MBPS? If it's just the speed in Firefox or a Bittorrent client that you usually get, you are getting what you pay for.
It sounded like you were implying that Ubuntu + GNOME was only second to KDE in general in terms of bloat. KDE is fast one a Pentium 4 and that's considered "old hardware" technically.
Stock Android does not have Carrier IQ. People would notice since it's the AOSP.
