I'm fascinated by the recent boom of emoji outside of Japan. I know it's because of the iPhone, but it still just delights me. I used to use Gmail's great and plentiful emoticons to emulate the excessively emoji'd "web diaries" (micro-blogs) that used to be popular in Japan.

My friend just searched [college] mascot and the answer was displayed at the top of the search results; I'm sure there are many more keywords like this.

Bikes aren't allowed on most sidewalks, but riding this on the road is out of the question. I could maybe get past the ridiculousness, but it takes away all the efficiency of a regular bike. Seems to be the same speed as a scooter with way more bulk, what's the point of that?

What? I was a freshman last year (2011) and I definitely remember the TV knob and rabbit ears. That said, my family is a late adopter of new technology; I also remember recording cassette tapes from the radio and other tapes, and we've never owned a flat-screen monitor or TV.

Of the sample I'm looking at now, only two of the people's tweets indicate that they're actually at home. The rest just have the word "home" in them.
