He wasn’t speaking about climate change *at all*, he was talking about wildlife conservation - it was just the article that conflated the two.

I’m not saying these issues aren’t interrelated. Clearly they are. What I’m saying is that when you have 500-words to make a point you can’t throw in every other potentially related factor because it’s sloppy thinking and sloppy writing.
The comments here are a prime of example of how every day people take less into account that two supposedly opposite things could be true. That Climate Change cause by a emissions from the West is the biggest problem in environmentalism AND the overpopulation in Africa is also a big problem in environmentalism that…
“Singling out the continent of Africa yet again...”
This whole post was a meander of tangentially related bits of information trying (and failing) to support a main argument. Protecting biodiversity in Africa, environmental racism in the US, Meghan Markle’s experience in the royal family, and Black Lives Matter should not all be mentioned in the same article.
You can call it racist, but this-
haha! I think so as well. Some people in the comments are discussing stuff that happens in like five seasons from now and I’m still trying to remember everyone’s names
As someone who has no idea what the books are like I gotta say- really enjoying myself. The first three epsidoes build nicely on each other an I’d say this one was my favourite yet. The ending was very cool, I only wish they had the soundtrack to back it up as the screen cuts to black.
I can only speak for myself but being from the camp of I sadly don’t have time to read all these door-stoppers I don’t understand the long ramblings about “But will this appeal to people who don’t know the books?!?” I’ve seen this worry in many places and I find it a bit baffling. Sure, GoT was a big hit and…
“I’m trying to succeed in a capitalist system,” she writes in My Body. “But that doesn’t mean I like the game.”
That’s a good one, but my favorite Jenna line will always be when she barged into the writer’s room and said “Listen up fives, a ten is speaking!”
Just FYI, the fastest women’s time this year in the 100 meters wouldn’t make the top 1000 of the men’s times. I’m not sure relegating women athletes to the deep, deep, deep minor league of almost every sport answers any problems we have.
Eh maybe they were a real couple and just broke up. Lots of young folk do. They’re finding out who they are right now and apparently they just weren’t compatible. 🤷🏾♀️
.... my god this is a bad take. The show is a fictional narrative that became a pop culture icon. It was a party. Let it go.
Why is Teigen getting all the shit for this when her fucking husband threw the party too?
Exactly. Her complaint, and calling it “an extreme disparity” actually hurts other actresses with legitimate complaints as people might read about Dunst and say, “I guess this isn’t actually a problem.”
Seriously. I love Dunst but her character was barely a sketch of a human, and she had almost no screen time and it was all in relation to Batman. Which is another discussion for another day because the issue of underdeveloped female characters who are just there to prop up the lead is a huge issue as well but I really…
Regarding Kristen Dunst and the pay disparity... I mean... she made seven million dollars. That is a shitload of money. While it is indeed $10 million fewer than Tobey got, Tobey played the titular character in a multi-billion dollar movie franchise- I mean, he WAS Spider-man, for fuck’s sake. At the end of the day,…
Pay disparity is a bad thing, but this has to be the worst example? The movie is called Spiderman, not Mary Jane. Also, there’s like more than 10 times screen-time for Spiderman. Getting little less than half is actually not so bad.
I disagree about Ferrell in Stranger Than Fiction; for me, he absolutely nails it as a man who doesn’t fully get just how lonely he is. Every scene with him and Maggie Gyllenhaal is gold, and his going through his daily routine, after he’s read the end of the manuscript, consistently reduces me to a blubbering wreck.
