I actually really liked that Xo told Rogelio (I think, it may have been Jane) that Alba was making her feel guilty about not feeling guilty. I feel like that is a common feeling, that it is portrayed as something that everyone feels guilty about, and if you don’t there is something wrong with you, you are some how

My social media-averse self is considering creating an Instagram account for Amy - you might just have pushed me over the edge!

If you feel that you aren’t racist, how could you stomach the thought of him?

College educated whites have voted Republican in every election since 1960. Trump is slated to be the first to lose that demographic in 56 years.

Yeah, I found it pretty believable based on my Catholic family. I wasn’t raised that way so I can’t speak firsthand (my mom left the church before I was born), but I know at least one of my cousins had an abortion as a teenager and her very devout mother was the one who paid for it and drove her to the clinic. But

I’m confused by the jump that Ryan not wanting to hang out during girls night means he doesn’t approve of Blake’s friend group. Like my husband and I have a lot of couple friends but when the girls come over he sticks around long enough to raid the snacks and then bounces.

On the flip side, it’s a good thing my chiweenie doesn’t have any say over public policy. I would not want to hear about her proposal to deport all unknown persons from the sidewalk in front of my house and carpet bomb the Post Office.

It’s too bad that “who’s a good boy?!” kindness doesn’t extend to his electorate :-/

I wouldn’t wish a dead dog on my worst enemy, and that includes Mike Pence. I’m glad his furbabybeagle had a long life and, unlike American women, was probably treated very respectfully by Pence.

In marginally related news, I give you BB-Amy:

Some people don’t want/aren’t ready for kids, and that is a-okay.

Agree! We just went from “I’m pregnant!?” to “Well, obviously I’m not having this baby” to “Oh btw, I had that abortion.”

I was so happy this aired when it did. My best friend/roommate just had an abortion, and she had no thought of even keeping it...she doesn’t even know if she wants kids. But when I went with her, some other women were crying/looked stressed etc, whereas she had already started dialing the clinic as she was getting

Most TV shows haven’t even able to handle the morning after pill with such class

i know!! it was so chill and perfect. it’s basically my favorite show at this point.

It was perfect. No hemming and hawing over how and when. No overly dramatic scene of going to get an abortion or watching her “suffer” through some cramps. Just an “oh, by the way” and that was that. It was all just perfectly realistic and matter of fact.

This show is seriously one of the best shows on television right now, if not THE best.

I also loved that it wasn’t mentioned until 2 weeks after the actual abortion happened and even then only in the context of a mysterious medical bill. No need to show Xo angsting over it or being dramatic in any way. It happened at some point and she moved on.

That was quite possibly the most low-key mention of an abortion I’ve ever seen on a screen. It’s such a good response to this stupid notion that all women who have abortions are scarred for life — as if guilt and suffering are the price you must pay for having done such a thing, even if you wanted or needed it.

‘Halt & Catch Fire’ did the best abortion episode last season and it completely flew under the radar. But highly recommend, 5 stars.
