When I was a teenager/in my early 20s my mom wasn't especially present. I mean, she was there physically but we had (and have) a strained relationship. In that absence, some friends mothers took up pieces of that role I was missing. They felt like "moms" then, but now, as we've aged and I have a family of my own

Exactly!

I'm glad someone else is reading the exchange the same way I am.

The thing is, I'm not having an argument. I said to use whatever word she felt comfortable using. To me, that is backing up a choice she's made. Sure, that could be "telling her what to do" but my intent was to support a decision that she has made. I don't believe I was being hostile, and by your definition it could

"Why don't you identify yourself as what you actually are instead of using some vague word that doesn't really mean anything?"

I'd say use the word if it's the one you're comfortable using. I have some sideeye for the author telling you how you should explain yourself.

Does she actually know what wcw means or is she actually that full of herself?

I emailed to volunteer but haven't gotten a reply, is there a wait time?

Oh! You're right! I TOTALLY meant sal...

Don't be such an eggtagonist, pinkham.

I have a lovehate relationship with them. There's a fine line between delicious and WAY TOO RUNNY WHY IS THIS RAW GROSS>

I never joke about breakfast.

delicious, tangy evil!

I love salty, but for whatever reason I actually hate miso! I just never got the taste of it.

Hahha I think breakfast is responsible for most N. American weight issues. That's why it went from "eat breakfast" to "eat a healthy breakfast, you fatties".

Yes!! Poached eggs on toast with a bit of salt and pepper is my other go to.

Meh. All animal products are gross when you think about it. Cheese is made with cow's breast milk.

ugh. I also have patio umbrella hate.

This will likely get me sent back to the greys, but I LOVE over easy eggs with ketchup. Break the yolk with your toast and soak it up with with some sweet, tangy delicious ketchup and it's heaven.

I was just thinking the same thing. I would get one overeasy and one scrambled.
