There are tons of lakes in Michigan. It's not like in American Pie, where "Tall Oak" was trying to be "Blue Lake" (right down to the uniform. I went to Blue Lake and I have owned that uniform…). As a Michigan native, I thought it looked just like any number of camps Up North.

This, all of this. That's how I feel.

1) This show is not good, but I love it anyway. It makes me laugh, makes me cry.

During the whole finale I was laughing, thinking "Natasha is cooking 'girl food' and Luca is cooking 'boy food'." Natasha's food would be more appealing to me (a girl!) on a daily or weekly basis, because it was usually relatively light. Luca's food that I remember (especially last night) is definitely "diet splurge"

Lots of people buy cookbooks. Lots of people also buy e-book versions of cookbooks. I happen to love the real thing, though, and have many. I barely use them for actual cooking, but love flipping through them for inspiration.

Don't wash chickens. It gets chicken bacteria splashed alllllll over your kitchen.

I enjoy even more that it's right with the Health questions.

I just looked at her Twitter feed and her cover photo is the REDSKINS. What the hell kind of true-blooded South Philadelphian would be a REDSKINS FAN and not an Eagles fan!? I hate the Eagles but, like, come on! I used to have like a sliiiiight compassion for her "born and raised Sout' Philly" attitude but Redskins?

I am familiar with how television production works and always figure there is a significant amount of time between when they finish cooking and do the tasting. In fact I often wonder why that doesn't play into people's strategy for cooking more often; why would you fry something when you don't have to (referring to

I keep refusing to believe that it's a real show and not a joke.

Do we know what these people do when they're not cooking? Like, they must sleep, presumably. Do they live in hotel rooms? Do they live together in a house? Does all of the tension and drama follow them back to that house? Can you imagine living with Krissi?

The same reason people read trashy paperbacks at the beach. It's silly, it's summer popcorn tv viewing that requires zero thought.

There was the mentioned mutation, and I was also thinking that because what's-her-name was injected with the virus instead of ingesting it, she got a stronger dose.

Plus that quail was the cutest.

Really? Over South Dakota? North Dakota? Nevada? Arizona? Oklahoma? FLORIDA?

Yeah, I will only cook boneless/skinless chicken breast in my sous vide machine and then use it for salads, etc. It's DELICIOUS that way, but that's not a practical solution for most people…

I was mad at her and could think of like 10 "stunning" recipes I have committed to memory… Here's one everyone should know to behold the wonderful invention that is the chicken thigh. It's my best friend's recipe (well, it came from her late father) and it is literally one of the most delicious things you will ever

@avclub-6e716efd1ac524bbccbb5b57ee0e452a:disqus Yeah, you're probably right. It was just difficult for me to wrap my head around him (or anyone) being such a bonehead. Total lack of cooking intuition.
