Good, thoughtful article. Wish there had been more, though, about Hobbes.
Did he actually seem drunk?
The best was the little kid singing: "You are not, you are not, you are not funny," to the tune of Jingle Bells!
That's cool. It's just that he had such an awesome, incredible show, and this just seems so Dancing With the Stars. Maybe he'll make hosting a game show be an enviable gig. Transform the game show genre…
Slight tangent: saw Ferguson hosting a morning game show the other day. Dude. WHY?? Hope Dave doesn't follow his example. However, if Dave guest hosted the Price Is Right, I'd definitely watch that.
Also, I remember it was a big deal that NBC owned the rights (claimed to) to a ton of original shit Dave did, that he couldn't take to CBS. So, they were obligated to change some things.
My favorite Dave moments were when he sent his mom to cover the Olympics. She was so guilelessly loving and charming, and it was lovely and FUNNY watching Dave being delighted by her.
I had assumed that Garrett's successful stand-up routine was his own fantasy… I've mixed feelings about when Vicki came in and the mood changed.
Having never seen either, I was thinking of The Untouchables, and hoping I could think of a good dean pun that could be written in paint on the wall of the elevator, something like: "Undeanable"

Perhaps the answer is to have a very, very small circle of friends. Decreases the odds, at least.
He should throw in some dinosaurs, a little Jesus, and an iPad, too.
Yes, Dennis nailed it - I mean, hey, it's Vikings, so I enjoyed watching it - but we've heard the words of the seer multiple times already. So, when the writing taps the audience on the shoulder as if it hasn't been paying attention, it plays those lines again, it gets grating. And somehow, as Rollo stood looking…
When I watch older episodes, I wonder what happened to Chang's wife. Wasn't het departure when he started to go kind of nuts?
I think it was also true, though, that they knew Pierce needed them.
I've only seen parts of the movie, but back when I worked at a used bookstore, it was lovely to play the soundtrack.
