You know how there's that NPR thing where if you win… is it Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me? the announcer guy with a cool voice will record a voicemail for you? WELL I'd pay cash money to enter myself into a contest where "Logan" leaves one of his thoughts for the day as a voicemail. Actually, I suppose it would get old if

This strange, but cool. I don't love on some Disney, but they're making a good choice, teaming with Vince Gilligan.

It's ironic, because it sounds like he's trying to talk about Scientology a little bit (e.g. "the basics")

I'm thinking Ragnar wouldn't have killed him, although perhaps Aslaug had no other choice… I don't think Kattegat would have liked her coddling the guy.

Bummed the individual episodes of this are (apparently?) not being reviewed.

I got the impression that Aethelwulf slept with her. No?

Also: Odin reminded me of Randall Flagg.

Perhaps someone else addressed it already, but are we sure the Christian missionary in Kattegat actually died? We might assume that he would be killed, but you know how it is with tv show deaths — they tend to be confirmed. I thought Aslaug looked almost sorry for the guy with his severely injured hands.

It would be pretty amazing of Ragnar's baptism led to his miraculous healing.

Also: I don't actually care about right vs. wrong ending, but honestly, I think really great movies make even an unwanted ending seem natural and satisfying. Can't think of a movie I really admire where I've ever thought, "Hey, I thought THAT was the ending!" Good writing and editing means creating good pacing.

I didn't like this movie, but I didn't think it was a bad one. I thought it was powerful, to the point where I can't like Frances O'Connor in anything ever again, because I still haven't "forgiven" her for abandoning Haley Joel Osment!

Well said, and correct, I think. I suppose I was thinking of the example of the Colbert Report, though. I'm sure there was talk of replacing Colbert sonehow. Luckily, the idea was shot down.

I don't *think* it was… I believe the Body Electric episode was the one where that supposedly plain girl was being talked into looking like everyone else, and she was resisting it.

I'd love that. But the cloud of cigarette smoke would obscure my tv screen.

Ah. I could totally see him doing that. Almost sounds like Part 2 to the life of his character on The Office.

I think, too, a host has to have charisma. And Wilmore doesn't really have it.

Yeah, actually, although it has no doubt been discussed elsewhere, it wouldn't be out-of-the-question to just end the show. However, I would guess that if Jon Stewart knew that would happen, he would feel obligated to stay on. I love him. He is the one celebrity I would like to meet.

^THAT. I don't want to hate on this show — I really don't. But I think you pinpointed why I miss Shirley… it's not because she had the funniest lines/scenes, etc. but I think the family element was important to her, and she helped that happen. Wow. I'm talking about her like she's a real person. Shit.

I wonder if they'll stick with Trevor Noah no matter how successful he's deemed to be or not — that will be interesting. I do hope he's successful, though.

Good point. It does seem pretty rushed. I also wouldn't mind him answering more of the viewer questions.
