I enjoy the Oscars. At the end of the day it’s just actors patting each other on the back, it’s niche and fun.

I think the real question is “not did they happen at all”, it’s “does anyone really care about it at all?” The answer seems to be a resounding NO. These shows are antiquated dinosaurs that are dying out. I still love the movies, tv shows, plays, and music...but the awards shows have long since gotten out of hand.…

Were award shows always as self-congratulatory and up each other’s butts as they are now? It all seems so superficial and unnecessary in these difficult times—sort of like pageants.

All true, but life expectancy for a 70 year old American male is 14 years. Trump, while obese, also has at his disposal to the best care on Earth. The two factors probably balance out.
