When I had H1N1 in London in 2009, I discovered that the English have no good crackers in grocery stores. My friend brought me back some water cracker-type stuff, and they were disgusting! I finally found some children’s biscuits at a Boots that were somewhat decent to eat.

I was talking specifically about having just finished watching Beware the Slenderman.

Just curious — why do you feel weird about the documentary being on HBO? The channel has aired a lot of good docs over the years, especially as part of their weekly Monday night documentary lineup. (And having just finished watching it, it very heavily focused on the reality, not the drama.)

I know that. However, I will be at work when it happens. So, if I watched it, it would be online, and I don’t want to count in those viewer numbers which do include everyone watching.

I don’t, but I also won’t be at home. So, if I watched it, it would be online, and I don’t want to count in those viewer numbers which do include everyone watching.

We need a new West Wing so we can all pretend Aaron Sorkin’s make-believe president is our real president. I’m pretty sure having President Bartlett helped me make it through the GWB years.

I completely agree. I refuse to hate watch it because I don’t want to give him the ratings. (I also don’t want to give myself a stroke or heart attack.)

I agree. I don’t understand how someone as high-strung as he is hasn’t already had a stroke or heart attack.

I agree about their having a special bond. I think it’s the same way with Supreme Court Justices. Otherwise, how do you explain how RBG could be such good friends with Scalia?

I was in high school for most of GWHB’s presidency. Even though I’ve always been a liberal Democrat (I remember defending Carter when I was in elementary school), I was okay with GWHB up until the First Gulf War. And he did call Reagan’s economic policy “voo doo economics”, so he can’t be all bad.

I don’t believe W made any of those decisions — Cheney did. I feel sorry for W, though. I’m not sure he really wanted to be president but was forced into it by his family (especially his backstage mother) and a need to please his parents.

I knew because I read the Daily Mail. They’ve been posting pictures of them together and him her boyfriend since the day after her mother was taken ill.

Maybe Channing could star in a movie about Liz Taylor’s unlikely relationship with Colin Farrell. I’ve been intrigued ever since I heard about it.

I’m totally sad about not getting to see Stockard Channing as Liz Taylor. That looked like it was going to be amazing.

I love lima beans and was wondering if I could sous vide them when making succotash the other night. I’ll try it next time!

It isn’t used often in the US, but the report from from the BBC, which is located in the UK. This is why so many people replying that it’s used often in the UK.

I loved playing ZombiU and Deus Ex Human Revolution on my Wii U. The integration of the gamepad into the game (especially in ZombiU) was part of what made the games fun for me. (Admittedly, I’m more of a board gamer and also had problems with computer game controls, so the gamepad made sense to me.)

If I’m going to end up chopping or mincing my garlic, I use this process.

It’s “Singin’ in the Rain” 2016 edition. “The Artist” was the 2011 edition.

According to Waking Sleeping Beauty, not understanding that animated movies weren’t edited like live-action movies was a big issue when Jeffrey Katzenberg joined Disney animation. He wanted them to edit The Great Mouse Detective and didn’t understand when the crew said they couldn’t. It caused a conflict between
