I always thought that the “traditional marriage” wording was weirdly sexist. I’m doing a full-on stretch here, but the priest or whatever never tells the wife to kiss the husband or tells them to kiss each other. It just comes off to me as “I give you permission to kiss the bride, I assume she wants it.”
