As a trans woman and a lesbian myself, thank you. I needed that.

*raises hand* Trans lesbian checking in.

I was talking with another trans woman once who was telling me (conspiratorially, apparently thinking I would agree), “Well, I just kind of think men should be with women, not with other men, you know?” And I’m like dafuq? Really? Like, you’re TRANS. You would think that having the experiences we have had, being seen

I guess we’re just supposed to hold it. I guess. I don’t really know, practically speaking, what they want us to do. I guess they just don't really care because they don't really see us as human beings.

Awww. I'm a woman but I really would have preferred to be Cool Ranch instead. No fair.

Ha! Only in California can an area with 300,000 people be considered boring. But I totally get it because my town/group of towns was the same way. It seems pretty small when you're there.

Heh. I grew up in Palmdale (the armpit of So Cal) and I still consider it a “small” city even though it has 150,000 people now. But it doesn't seem to even compare to some of Cali's larger cities.

“Seemingly refererring to transgender people, he called men wearing women’s clothing ‘an abomination’ according to Deuteronomy.”

Yeah, after I posted that I thought, hmm, you usually don’t start using that phase until they’re a little older. Still less weird than what she said, though.

Amen, sister.

I was talking with my mom about that and she was having a hard time understanding how someone who is trans could get to that point. Not in a judgemental way, it’s just way outside of her experience. I told her that I completely understood how someone could get to that point. I neglected to tell her that I’ve thought

It sucks sometimes.

All any of us can ask you to do is try to empathize and understand. And you’re doing that and that rocks.

Hate for non-binary folks in our community is completely unacceptable. I just can’t wrap my head around it.

Amen, sister (from a fellow trans woman).

What’s so funny is it wouldn’t seem crazy at all if she had just added one word. All she had to say is “young woman” and it would have changed the statement completely.

This isn't really relevant, I just find the English language funny/quirky sometimes.

Thank you for the advice! And no need to apologize. I just really do appreciate all the advice and the other advice I’ve read in the comments here.

I'm not a huge Beck fan but "Volcano" is an incredibly sad and beautiful song (speaking of songs of his that are really sad).

Heh. Being a trans woman this is something I haven’t really thought of before (though I’ve been wearing women’s clothes at home for years now). I’m lucky I haven’t ruined anything yet. Or I have really pedestrian taste and just wear really plain things, I guess. *shrug*

But this post actually helped me because I

That does make me feel somewhat better. They *still* should have done their own research before signing off on it but at least they maybe, possibly didn't fully understand the circumstances.
