You dislike the wording, or just that it’s unadorned text? The style is on the plain side, but seems inoffensive (it’s not that one in the header image, which confused me for a sec)

Any time those kind of mustaches come up in conversation, I think of that period where Michael Jordan had a Hitler mustache, appeared in ads with it and all, and no one told him to shave the thing off. I figured at the time that that must mean he didn’t have any actual friends - real friends wouldn’t let you do…
This is the sort of law that gets introduced where it seems so common sense and hard to argue with, but you just know that Republicans are going to find some way to object anyways.
Have people made accusations of mistreatment against Sorkin? I hadn’t heard about that...
Yay for the Alphas mention! It still smarts that that cancellation went down the way it did.
It’s sort of amazing that there are 3 adaptations that are all so different, and that are all popular with the same people. It’s such a versatile property.
Ah, well, anyone can have a bad day - hope your hand feels better
There are certainly other tv shows we could put in the mix for a supers on TV discussion, but personally I was a big fan of Alphas - that cancellation still stings a bit.
It seems like people aren’t very good at balance - like you said, the pills aren’t magic, therapy and positive lifestyle choices need to be in the mix too. On the other hand, just therapy and lifestyle aren’t enough to fix fundamental issues with brain chemistry, and some people *need* medication. One of our family…
That seems pretty judgey - unless I misread, it seems like you’re saying erectile dysfunction is always fixable, and anyone who isn’t taking those steps is lazy? ED isn’t necessarily something that can be fixed with exercise. It seems like you’re blaming someone for having a medical condition.
I think mine would be pretty close to yours - only addendum would be that I should have recognized that that 90's overalls mini-trend for girls was a for models/actresses only thing, and not to try it myself.
They basically all have the same face, and she kept the same last name - I’m surprised anyone familiar with the twins didn’t make the connection.
The Olsen twins played a character on a hit sitcom (Full House), starting basically as babies, and then when that show ended did a bunch of home movies and tv stuff of their own - they grew up on American TV, and then retired from acting to become fashion designers. I don’t know how any American who saw them on TV…
I’m pretty sure I reached cultural obsolescence a while back, so that means I can wear what I want, right? (Which, at the moment, is winter quarantine-chic)
Democrat or not, that particular move was definitely on the conservative end of the spectrum, wasn’t it? As you said, thinking of the children and all that
Have your kids particularly enjoyed any bits from the show? My 5 year old is very taken with the “robots eating breakfast” sketch from S4, Shields and Yarnell (two mimes) as the guest stars.
Yeah, I ended up skipping to a different episode - most of the problematic bits in other episodes are there and gone again so quick that they don’t even register with my kids, but that one was a more sustained tone
Also, weren’t conservatives the ones who originally pushed so hard for those content warnings?
I read a Disney statement that indicated some of those might still get added back in, pending further negotiations
Also, you’ve got those morons who insist that if a stereotype is a “good” one (like being smart, or good at math) then it’s not bad or racist. “Hey, it was a compliment!”
