I keep hoping but after years and years of lies/bad choices, one loses hope.

Her mother (my cousin and best friend) died 10 years ago and her father is physically far away, though he had her live with him for a while but could not handle her behavior. Her grandparents never said no to her after he mother died - and overrode any opinion I offered, as I am not a parent.
