The problem is that there aren’t many people talking about suicide or any other issues that disproportionately impact men, at least not in the same way that “women’s issues” are discussed, wherein there’s a call for collective action. There are no national campaigns to combat suicide or alcoholism. But, there sure as

I find this assertion to be not exactly true, since most of the time when we talk about suicide it seen as a “male problem”. I mean, everybody knows that men commit suicide more than women and we know that it is because men are too afraid to seek medical help. Studies that focus on female suicide are extremely rare.

KaSlice is saying that it’s kinda ridiculous that a social problem is only seen as a problem when it affects women. Male suicide rates have been this “obscene” for a long time now for both vets and non-vets, yet no one really gives a shit.

Interesting if you like violence. The fighting, stabbing, pulling, grabbing and other destruction from such a video would put several people in court and/or the hospital.

That’s why continuing medical education is a thing. Those doctors are slackers. Which of this research is focused on men?

More gendering? No. Because it’s already gendered. Doctors are familiar with the demographics and epidemiology of diseases. That’s why every Resident’s presentation starts with Age and Sex (This is a 74 year old male with a history of ...) People latched on to undiagnosed heart attacks in women and cried sexism,

but it is though in a large % of cases and is accepted as such by mental health professionals.

This is EXACTLY what psychiatrists think.

Whatever the reason, it’s clearly not because you’re actually a dumb ass.

Additionally, the article doesn’t consider that women are seeing more active warfare now than previously (though not in front line combat, they are combat adjacent) and it could well be that women are even less psychologically suited for the rigors of war than men are.

Is Rheumatoid Arthritis a gender issue? It affects women more than men - overwhelmingly. How about Grave’s disease? Lupus? Because women are suffering from those in vastly larger numbers. Suicide is usually a product of mental illness, illnesses that take different paths in males and females. Then you can think about

certainly.

This is ridiculous. Not everything is a gender issue. Suicide in the military is higher than in the general population because Military life is MUCH more stressful than general life. What does veterans suffering PTSD and other mental illnesses from living in a warzone have to with gender? What does killing themselves

Attempting suicide and committing suicide are not the same thing. This is important. Psychiatrists use the term parasuicide, an action which many interpret primarily as a cry for help.

Good for her! Most people get complacent in their marriages and let themselves go and whatnot. Good to see a woman taking the initiative to stay attractive for her husband.

Can you make like, even one post where you don’t write a paragraph about your life?
