On a tangentially related note,... why do we allow officers of any kind to put any sorts of non-regulation patches on their uniform?

One deportation officer, Robert T. Lombardi, wrote in emails in late 2018 that while they were unsure the new charges would result in new immigration hearings, “This particular defendant has gotten enough breaks and slaps on the wrist for the justice system.”

So, wait, if the juror knew ahead of time what the badge meant, it would have been OK? I’ve been on juries - deliberations are full of opinions based on the things you know and have experienced in addition to the facts gained during the case. That’s how they work. This is the 21st century, what you can Google *is*…

Nah, it’s exactly what they want. it’s like repealing the ACA - they don’t actually care about the outcome, they just want to be able to yell about liberals, cancel culture, and activist courts to their base.

What’s wild is: as far as “statement” speeches we’ve been seeing . . . this is tame as they come. The kid didn’t have some righteous call to action or moral attack on those that wronged them . . . they just said hey, this was hard for me, and look how much I’ve grown.

Alas, way too much sodium for me. If I use any pickle brine in recipes, I have to be oh, so careful not to use more than a dash and more than one medium pickle? Balloon city, not to mention the palpitations... :( Even the ranch has to be used sparingly. And I love the stuff!

bacon bits in ramen?

“Bacon” bits  - because I don’t eat pig. I only use them on salads or on a baked potato. But they scratch the itch.
