That’s the same caution they used in giving him two experimental drugs.

I know it ties up the microwave, but I use a two quart Pyrex pitcher and I can shock the dough for about 20 seconds every so often to keep it at about 103F. I have a mug of hot water in there too. The yeast loves that.  Will definitely try the Instant Pot because it won’t require attention.

I’m 78. Is that old enough?  Claire is right. My mother started every meal in a frying pan with a chunk of butter, even hamburgers.  The people above who were worrying about calories need to remember that we do not absorb every molecule we eat.  Some if it goes through us, especially fats.

The financial risk is pretty low. 24 Splenda is the equivalent of a cup of sugar. A cup of peanut butter costs maybe a buck. One egg.  I think the sugar helps in firming up the cookie when the crystals reform during baking, and the Splenda might not do that. You could certainly try it with half a cup of sugar and 12

When we still used to go to restaurants, I would order the soup because it generally includes (is made up from) leftovers and that gave me a sampling of the whole kitchen.

First, you fry the bread with some butter. Then you put butter in the pan and fry the eggs. I don’t understand where the “too much butter” concept comes from. The greater purpose of both eggs and bread is to convey butter to your mouth.

So I could dial into the coffee maker, run the cycle and keep the heat element on until it sets fire to the kitchen? Asking for a friend.

The answer to that is to stop looking at that clock.

When you get above 6 people, passing serving platters just becomes cumbersome and it’s time to set up a buffet. She has her food on the table and it can be passed comfortably without distracting from the conversation.  If necessary, she can serve from a bowl that’s too hot or heavy to be passed.

When she finally gets out of rural Georgia and goes to the big city of Washington DC, she can walk by the Pentagon and personally go check out the pizza parlor with no basement. At that point, she will have to grab onto some other nefarious plot, but pretty soon those nice people of Georgia are going to realize that

Isn’t john Mackey just a bit on the “awfully thin” side?

In the pastel world of GBBO, a bowlful of lemons or even a light yellow mixing bowl appears perhaps just a touch too gaudy. It’s nice, for a few minutes, to be in a pastel world with sweet fluffy things that are just the right degree of crisp and light.

Uh huh.  And it’s working superbly. I am now committed to buying these and going off somewhere alone with them.  Since it’s a gimmick, there’s no reason to share.

Near where I live, there is a BK on one corner and on the very next corner is McDonalds. BK had a special that you had to order while you were at McDonald’s, and McD probably has the same thing. This explains why some of my aging neighbors are parked behind McD’s. We old farts who claim we can’t understand texting

Are you referring to the Farmers Home Loan Administration? They offer very good interest rates and virtually no down payment. I think you can even include the closing costs in the mortgage.

I don’t think they do all that much “processing” when they make Tots. They probably make mashed potatoes and then extrude them into a fryer for a minute or two. There’d be no great need to make an elaborate concoction.  I would also be very happy with garlic mashed potatoes on a shepherd’s pie.

You can make a collar for the pan with parchment paper. Stand it inside the bundt pan. Apologies: I was wrong this is not a bundt pan; it’s for angel food cake.

A lot of eatin’ and not much food.  I’ll pass whenever possible.

And he needs a shave. That would-be beard stuff just makes guys look like they got out of the Flight Deck (psych ward) yesterday.

Start with a nice, long nap.
