Sorry. I know this is off topic, but just saw this video of the Solo “Kessel Run” Millenium Falcon from NY Toy Fair. It’s interesting and potentially clarifies some of the chatter about the ship’s new look in the film.

I struggle with the phrase “irredeemably evil” when I consider some of the things other characters in this film who we’re meant to sympathize with do, but I don’t want to spoil. So I’ll go with questioning if Tony Stark at the beginning of the first Iron Man wasn’t arguably “irredeemably evil”...but then he wasn’t.…
In addition to the awesome macro- theme exploration, there’s some really great in-universe repercussions of Wakanda’s isolationism. Namely, I wonder if people will say, where the hell were you during “the incident” or Sokovia? Of course, the answer is, “You colonize our continent and fam across the globe for centuries…
“Leftover.” Nice. Which sorta makes him perfect for the DCEU. (Sorry DC. I love you and want to bathe in a great version of a DC Comics cinematic universe, but it doesn’t seem likely over at WB.)
Must be nice. Since you asked to be freed from bliss...
That’s how I felt about that Emperor guy for 16 years.
Re: MOTU losing Goyer, I’m a little relieved, and still wary of Goyer’s involvement as a producer. I’d love to see someone with a little more fantasy and whimsy in their repertoire. Goyer leans more on the “cool” and “edgy” which MOTU has in small doses. But the toyline and characters leaned more on the epic and…
I could totally see that, obviously on the He-Man side but also for Adam. I hope they do some scrawny Steve Rogers magic or do two different actors to pull that off.
Possibly. She could also betray him hard. Or combine the two and he has no choice but to kill her after her betrayal, despite his feelings for her. Or maybe it’s the latter and he learns later that she did it for a good reason or under duress, just like Lando later does in ESB. This might explain why he’s learned to…
I 100% agree that I’d prefer to see a Lando movie before a Han, but realistically I get it. Think of the shareholders’ reaction to hearing, “The first non-Saga movie based on a legacy character will be...Lando Calrissian!” [Awkward silence.]
I have. Feeling she’ll never get mentioned again because she ends up screwing him over pretty badly by film’s end. Maybe she double crosses him or something, when he was convinced that she was in love. The EW article describes her as a “femme fatale” and the entire film as a “space noir” so...
Right. I mean, for most people, Star Wars Rebels isn’t even a thing. I’d assume it’s the same for the continually growing MCU fan base, where most of them have never watched more than 5 episodes of Agents of SHIELD.
Right on. I’m often wrong. Much respect and, ultimately, it’s just a movie.
Right. What you saw and commented on was a teaser for the trailer (I know...we live in silly times) that dropped the next morning. It ended with the words “Trailer Tomorrow.” So that thing you saw arguably did it’s job in teasing both the movie and the character, hence the minimal Solo screen time. The actual trailer…
Haha. I Yoda don’t know Yoda what the Yoda hell Yoda happened there.
I’ve personally witnessed an indie record label buy a brand new, white van that it would lend out to its bands to tour the country in. After just 3 years, that thing looked like the Falcon we know. And I’d say that comparing Chewie and Han to touring rock bands that load their new instruments in and out of constantly…
Yeah, that’s definitely going to be this film’s uphill battle. And considering how some people didn’t like how “different” Luke was in TLJ from their precious and uber-fragile Luke Skywalker mind palace, there will definitely be a lot of fans that will take up a lot of space to explain how Alden is not Han Solo, or…
Hyperbolic indeed... And...nevermind.
Yup. Looks like an absolute mess that Disney is completely ashamed of. And the lead can’t act. And The Last Jedi. And the sky is falling. And hot take. </sarcasm>
Except you haven’t seen the trailer yet. Now that’s pretty telling.
